The Senior Network Design and Optimization Engineer interfaces with customers to provide network design and performance related services.

  • Key connection channel between Project Nokia global units, NPO Business line.
  • Ability to lead complex network performance troubleshooting activities covering end-to-end perspective, assuring that all required teams (Company and/or Customer) are engaged and taking over responsibility and following up to assure problem is resolved by the responsible party.
  • Responsible for all and any 2G/3G/4G/5G counter / PI / KPIs commitment related discussion (formulas, aggregation, threshold) for periodic or ad-hoc updates / changes (for both OSS and drive tests domains)
  • Competence transfer. Knowledge available to whole project audience, and Customer if required.
  • NPO Expert has visibility and access to customer level to influence customer’s opinion and decision making.
  • Independency to carry out the duties in proactive, result oriented, and prioritized manner - well organized with high productivity.

  • Interfaces with customers to provide network design and performance related services, according to the solutions portfolio
  • Performs critical (sometimes escalated) design and performance activities in customer projects independently. These may include complex problem solving in projects with performance requirements and multi-vendor environment.
  • Performs network audits
  • May lead a project team with responsibility to create plans and delegate tasks to team members
  • Provides support to clients and/or customers (typically on site) in his field of expertise.
  • Suggests improvements to the related processes, methods and tools
  • Links customer requests/needs to the services and service development (solution consultant primary interface)
  • Win Together/Build communities

  • Works to develop capability, e.g. is able to create and prepare design and/or optimization guideline documentation
  • Delivers of advanced network design and performance training
  • Actively shares key learnings and project documentation within own technical community
  • Strong contributor to competence transfer by coaching and community activities
  • Typical tasks

  • Works typically in several technology areas with intermediate to advanced skill level or with one technology area at an advanced skill level. Task scope includes:-
  • Coaches others on the efficient utilization of design and measurement tools, including internal and external troubleshooting tools.
  • Network Dimensioning for sales
  • Network design
  • Organizing field Measurements and laboratory tests
  • Advanced network and/or service optimization
  • Network audit with corresponding analysis​​​​​​​

    Role requirements : 

  • Strong working experience on 2G/2.5G systems (planning & optimization) .
  • Good working experience on 3G/3.5G systems (planning & optimization)
  • Strong working experience on Nokia 2G/2.5G parameters, counters and KPIs, features for at least 3 last years.
  • Good technical understanding of network optimization
  • In depth trouble-shooting capability from analysis of network statistics and drive test logs.
  • Good overall understanding of telecommunications business and Nokia Networks solutions in mobile.
  • Excellent presentation and consultation skills to make complex technical matters clearer to customer are necessary
  • Good networking within 2G/3G/4G/ 5G Nokia environment
  • Fluency in English. French and/or Dutch as strongly preferable (not mandatory)
