Service Technician – Benelux

Contract: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week

Location: Erpe-Mere

About SPX Flow

At SPX Flow, we are a world leader in sustainable solutions ensuring the controlled and measured movements of life’s essential elements. With our HQ in North Carolina, we have operations in more than 30 countries and an even broader customer base worldwide. Our 4,900 employees innovate to design, deliver and service high-value solutions for our customers across the food, beverage and industrial markets.

We’re looking for a customer-focused Service Technician to join our Central European cluster team of 40 people, where you’ll play an important part in delivering the highest standards of service to our customers.

About the role

As a Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for the successful execution of assigned service and product support activities across Benelux. Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll be spending most of your time carrying out mechanical-based services, such as installing and replacing components, mostly within fluids. You'll also be responsible for reporting.

80-90% of your work will be carried out at our customers’ sites. These assignments can take anything between 2 days to 1 week. Therefore, you must be willing to work away from home and be prepared for overnight stays.

As most our clients are in the dairy sector, you can expect to be working in a very clean working environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Executing contracted and ad-hoc service activities.

  • Acting as the primary SPX Flow point of contact whilst delivering service activities on customers’ sites.

  • Identifying and supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • Delivering technically accurate and informative Service Reports to our customers

Your first 3-6 months in the role will involve a degree of training depending on your experience.

Due to the nature of this role, you can expect to travel around the Benelux region for up to 75% of your time. Some weekend work is required, but not on a regular basis.

This is a challenging role where you’ll be liaising with our customers face-to-face daily. Therefore, we are looking for people who have a keen customer-focused attitude as well as the customer service skills to match.

As a minimum, we are looking for:

  • Technical education or equal through experience

  • Proven experience in delivering mechanical service or maintenance activities

  • Dutch (fluent or native level) and English language skills (intermediate or fluent level)

  • Needs to be comfortable with using computers or tablets for reporting purposes

  • Flexibility to work away from home for extended periods

Although not essential, it would be also good for you to have:

  • Experience in fluid components

  • Experience in the food processing, chemical or pharmaceutical industries

  • Experience of coordinating and leading teams of up to 5-10 people

    Career Progression

At SPX Flow, we’re driven by ingenuity with a focus on meeting our customers’ needs. Our people have a commitment to hard work, innovation and delivering market leading solutions to our customers. That commitment has brought many rewards to our employees, past and present.

In the past, our Service Technicians have moved up the career ladder to management level or have taken a sidestep into other opportunities within our organisation.

We offer a competitive benefits package to our employees including:

  • Have a healthy work-life balance through our well-being programmes

  • Feel valued at work thanks to our performance & recognition programmes

  • Keep your career on track with our development & career growth programmes
