About the opportunity

To strengthen the Belgian Market Access and Public Affairs team, we are looking for a Payer Engagement & Early launch Manager to be based in Diegem.

The main purpose of this role is to explore the market access environment to identify the strengths and gaps such that Sanofi’s innovative health solutions are brought to the patient as fast as possible, in a sustainable way and respecting the trust of patients and stakeholders in Sanofi. Together with internal stakeholders, you contribute to develop the most appropriate launch strategy to ensure that the right patient gets the right medicine at the right time. In this role, you join a highly-skilled market access and public affairs team continuously striving to build their expertise and develop their talents.

In this role, your responsibilities will be twofold:

Early launch

  • Ensure access for patients to our innovative medicines in different therapeutic areas by combining scientific, economic and communication aspects. You explore the access environment to identify the market readiness for products in Sanofi’s portfolio up until registration of the product
  • Lead or participate in local project teams related to the launch of products before market authorization
  • Collect, interpret and record scientific evidence of the therapeutic value of products in your scope of responsibilities
  • Conduct and evaluate comparative analyses of previous opinions of healthcare institutes in Belgium and abroad in the indication areas which are relevant for Sanofi’s portfolio before registration
  • Cooperate with external clinical and other experts/stakeholders who are involved in the launch, market access and reimbursement process
  • Ensure a smooth transition from your knowledge and intelligence to the market access manager to further prepare launch. Be available for market access managers to support the definition of the optimal strategy for pricing and reimbursement and the development of the reimbursement dossier
  • Contribute to and support the Europe Market Access Community and product-specific Global Market Access teams for the products in your scope with information on local pricing and reimbursement requirements and contribute to the European strategies
  • Represent Sanofi externally with regard to pricing, market access and access environment at meetings with authorities, industry associations and other stakeholders and linked to early launch activities
  • Build market access capabilities and understanding within the country

    • Payer Engagement

  • Plan and implement a strategy to create and nurture a close and trust-based relationship with high-level payer decision makers both at national level and regional level. Develop a dialogue and build coalitions with payers on common points of interest and priorities to create win-win solutions
  • Establish an early dialogue with the payer and pricing stakeholders to ensure fast and sustainable access for patients to Sanofi’s health solutions
  • Provide political intelligence and map the relevant stakeholders in the Belgian and regional payer and pricing environment in healthcare and pharma
  • Monitor, analyze and assess relevant policy and legislation changes about the healthcare policy and payer environment and bring this to the attention of internal stakeholders such as market access colleagues
  • Negotiate with payers to bring Sanofi’s health solutions to the patient

    • About you

    Qualifications/Education & work experience

  • Master’s degree in Medicines, Pharmacy, Economics or Scientific Studies
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry and 2-3 years relevant work experience in market access/public affairs with proven track record of working with Pharmaceutical Specialised products within Belgium
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch, French and English
