Do We Really Know Each Other?

Do We Really Know Each Other?

It seems that reality has different faces. We see the world through our own perception. What if we would take the time to really get to know ourselves, then we really see the other person too. Our beliefs shape our reality, that is well-known. We see the other person as we are. When we have the courage to dive deeper into the ocean of our own being, we might see what is hidden there. Once we have seen 'ourselves' something magical happens.

Once we are aware of this truth, we can start to peel down the layers that do not represent who we really are. The beauty of this action is that the dust that was covering the reality of who other people really are, appears too. We can wipe it off and embrace people in their authenticity. There is an extra gem that develops in this proces: while we connect better to ourselves, we connect better to others as well.

Then we can sincerely start to apologize for all misunderstandings with others and ourselves and lack of love and trust that we created while we thought we were right and the other one was wrong. The revealed secret is that we mirror each other. Therefore let us welcome each other. Together we can support each other to become the brightest version of ourselves. Looking in the mirror becomes not an act of vanity but an act of self-care that leads to caring for others.

Start by looking in the mirror. Who do we really see? Do we have the courage to take off all masks? Who have we been hiding all along? Maybe someone hurted us and that is why we looked for a safe shelter. Take this season as a sign that it is better to grow. Spring welcomes all of us to let more light and love in. Let us look with different eyes and be ourselves. We are all unique. There is no person like us. Then love each person that crosses our path for who they really are.

Observe what they mirror and take it as a lesson. Others tell us so much more than we can read in a book. We are all living examples that we should not judge each other by the cover. Let us really read the content of ourselves and then embrace the beauty of other contents. Life is how we see ourselves. Do we really know each other? What is part of our own imagination and what ressembles reality?

Be brave and look in the mirror

Someone asked a clown why do you wear a mask? He replied everyone does mine is just visible. Actors are both loved for who they are without a mask , and who they are with a mask playing a part. Most of us have a private face and a public face. As a teacher often I saw how the child I saw in the classroom, was different to the one the parents saw at home. So much of how we are perceived is situation specific.

Yes, Liesbeth, the magic is behind the mask. Each of us must seek out the potion that allows us to see it.

Profound stuff There is indeed a need to regularly stop and 'smell the roses' lest life pass us by and leave the vessel empty.

Beautiful piece !! It is true that we need to see and understand ourselves first, because in the process we are going to discover how many times we’ve decided to be like someone else! It’s quite interesting! When we really get to the point of just being the best version of ourselves, we can love and understand everyone else!! And it is fantastic!! Why? Well, because nobody is perfect! Right?

Yes my dear we can't go back in time, but we can (with rear mirrors) stop the past catching up with us.
