Haunted By The Unexplainable.

Haunted By The Unexplainable.

She was home. The day had just arrived. The coffee machine was willing to serve. A comfortable sound. Tasty croissants. Oh that scent. Seducing. The oven still warm. In the corner of the kitchen someone watched over her shoulders. A sudden noise. The box moved. She noticed it. Said nothing. Her heart reacted. Her breathing faster. Suddenly it was very quiet. So quiet. As if the whole universe was frozen. For a moment that seemed to last forever. All her senses focused. The box fell open. A yellow post-it appeared. She felt how 'something' took her by the hand and reached for the post-it. Later that day she saw a mark on her hand. The letter 'S' tattooed on the palm of her hand.

She had to sit down. The uninvited guest left the apartment. She turned the post-it up and down. A message? She kept it against the window. The sun uncovered the secret. The yellow post-it contained a handwritten message. Colored red. Bloody hell. What was that? Her fingers trembled. Dark energy. She felt it. She shielded herself. At once. She realized her life was at stake. If she made a mistake. She had to be careful. His assignment was a true challenge for her. The cup of coffee was still warm. 'Son of a bitch, why do you do this to me?', she replied. The clouds moved fast. The birds were sky diving. The statue colored blue for some seconds.

The croissants left untouched. She could not stay in her apartment. She grabbed her purse and left her street. The post-it in her hand. Outside every sound seemed thousand times louder than ever. Earache. Head about to explode. The street turned around. More than once. She had to sit down. The people in the street were staring at her. She was pale. Someone tried to talk to her. She noticed it but could not communicate. Soon she was all alone. The cars drove by. No single soul had the courage nor the patience to look after her. A busy day in Paris. Business as usual. He had followed her. One body. Two shadows. She felt a cold breeze. Eyes gazing at her. The yellow post-it felt warm. Just like that.

She missed him. His name echoed in her thoughts. Scenes played. She saw every single detail. The post-it marked a date and a brand. March 24th, Pall Mall, an American brand. He burned a hole in the post-it and he liked it. His powers were strong that day. She could not resist the thought of wanting to feel safe in his arms. Again. He felt how she longed for him. The mall. She had to go to the city mall. A package of cigarettes. Not to smoke. It would lead her further on the quest. She was ready to walk now. She scanned the environment. Nobody acted in a strange way. As if they had not seen her. Had she become invisible? She smiled at someone who crossed her. The man smiled.

The mall was crowded. People coming from every corner. Talking loudly. She searched for the shop where he used to get his cigarettes. The shop was closed. A document attached on the door. Closed for private reasons. She tried to find more signs. The document moved. Slowly. There was no wind. The unexplainable was playing with her mind. She was trapped. A mobile phone was ringing. Louder and louder. The sound came from inside the shop. A tune of a song. She recognized it. It was the song that he loved so much. The tune of 'Frank Sinatra, my way'. When they visited New York together, she offered him a cd of the world star. He was excited. He adored the singer.

She could not find more information. She decided to return to her apartment. Oh no, she was choqued! The door was open. Horrified. Chaos all over the place. Things missing. She had to call the police. Thiefs had stolen some of her belongings. There was blood. Garbage spread around. In a circle. A strange impact. The police officer suggested that she should spend the night in a hotel. The apartment was sealed for investigation. She almost lost it. This was getting way out of hand. She grabbed some clothes and her visa card. She called the hotel owner. One room left. A spacious room. Red roses. A room designed with passion. She took a nap. Two shadows danced in the corner of her room. Electrifying.
