He Left A Book ... And Hoped She Would Find It ...

There he was. Popped up. Suddenly. His shoes walked him down the path. He had no control over it. Black shoes. Polished. In his hands traces of human touch. Only traces. Nothing more. Nothing less. He could not remember where he left it. The book. A book. Not an ordinary book. Not just for anyone. A book for her. He could not recall what it was about. He only could see her face. And the eyes belonging to her. They never left his heart and soul. Deeply connected. Since the day they met.

She took a shower. Water running down her back. She enjoyed the feeling. The whole water experience. Her senses fully awake. In her mind she saw him. His eyes were talking to her. She felt it. She smiled. Whatever is he thinking? Whatever is he trying to achieve? She saw how the water drops built letters on the wall. A name appeared. His name. She tried to wash it away. The letters did not obey. They kept appearing. Again and again. Then she saw his black shoes and the path he followed.

Question marks. Of course. In his hand she saw traces. Their human connection. Touched by meaning and forgiveness. She cared about him. Still. Then she saw a present. A cover. Uncovered. A book. No title available. Dust around. Some spiderweb. What happened to the book? Why would he want to give it to her? She asked him the question. He looked at her. No comment. She would know the answer. Without any doubt. For sure. His shadow became stronger. The water mingled with it. Nothing could separate them.

She grabbed a white towel. Covered her entire body in it. The windows were open. The neighbours were watching tv. An ordinary night. At first sight. She was not ashamed. Even when a neighbour would catch her in her natural dress. Elegant she was. Even without clothes. The towel gave her the impression that it knew her well. Soft touch. His hands all around her. Was she imagining it? No, she was not. His energy filled the room. The bathroom expanded. She wanted to know the title of the book.

He hoped that she would discover the title and especially the content. He stopped the physical contact. Looking at her from all angles. She was gorgeous. Every part of her. The towel revealed her true beauty. He wished he could be so close to her as that piece of heaven. She could not believe her eyes. A spider ran away. Enough work. Time to catch some flies. Paper has just a temporary fun factor for the little creatures. He guided her towards the book. He had to do it. No choice. A must. She had to sit down. On her bed. White sheets.

As she was cleaning the cover, she added words to the story. His way to connect to her. Time for some action. His soul entered the scene. She felt a warm breeze. Summer. In her heart. The sheets started to dance. A wild dance. Fire. More fire. And more … In all directions. Without any warning. He danced behind the sheets. She gave in. No other way. The time stood still. Willing to do what mattered. In that moment. His whole message was packed in that book. That one book that made all the difference. She had to listen. This time. So she did.

The spider walked with his creepy legs on the camera. Leaving more dust behind. The eye of the camera recorded every single move. He held her close. In his imagination. Visualized the entire world. She became part of his world. The sheets found peace again. Coming down. Balancing. In the most artful way. He put his entire shape next to hers. A new shape created. With lights and shadows. Two bodies seemed to touch each other under the sheets. Seemed. Nobody had a clue anymore. The wind played with the idea. Thunder. Smiling faces. Living sparkling eyes.

Black shoes next to the bed. The white towel fell down.

Liesbeth, your story reminded me of how my Mom (a rather lusty woman) responded to some male personalities in her younger days, "He can put ihs boots under my bed, any time." And so it goes.
