He Left A Red Rose On Her Bed.

He Left A Red Rose On Her Bed.

She opened her eyes. Very carefully. Not to break them. After such a long time. The monitoring device had not seen it yet. With her hand she felt an object. Silk texture. Its fragrance made her smile. She recognized it. It was a flower. A red rose. With a note attached to it. Reading the words she felt deeply moved. He wrote her that he loved her so much and that he felt sorry for the accident. She saw his number. Humbly written under the romantic note. She stretched all her muscles to test if her body was still fine. The sun kissed her cheeks gently. She felt welcome in this world. The device close to her bed was silent. She touched it with her hand. The monitoring device noted that gesture. Stood tall. Watched her waking up.

She realized that she was in a hospital. The white walls felt cold. She longed for his warmth. Her curiosity conquered her fears. What was she doing here? Pressed the button to call the nurse. She heard footsteps in the corridor. The door opened and a nurse stepped in. The nurse saw that the patient was awake. She was surprised to witness this development. Checked what the patient needed the most right now. A glass of water and some encouraging words. The patient was sitting straight. Her eyes were glowing. She seemed so radiant. The rose was gorgeous. As flowers are meant to be. The nurse put the rose in a crystal vase filled with fresh water.

Then the nurse called the doctor to tell him the good news. The patient was brought to a room where the nurse and the doctor investigated her health. It was a miracle, she seemed fine. No consequences left from the accident. As if nothing ever had occured. The patient asked if she could go home. After consulting the medical staff, she got an answer. She was free to leave the hospital if at least a close relative or a friend would pick her up. She instantly remembered the phone number that he left behind on the note. She took the phone and her fingers were trembling. Waited a while and became then more courageous. Dialed the number, ... slowly. A voice on the other side said: "Hello". She replied and said: "It is me".

They both smiled in that particular moment. There was a silence. Tension in the air. "Are you fine, sweet darling?", was his reply. She confirmed that she was okay. Then she asked him if he could come and pick her up to bring her home. He was excited that she asked him to support her on this. "Did you get my rose?", another sweet sentence rolled out of his mouth. She smiled and said that she adored that present. "It made me feel like a queen", she admitted a bit shy. He laughed. He felt like a hero now. "I am there in 15 minutes, wait for me at the entrance," was his next answer. She was grateful for how he reacted and was open to give her all his loving care.

She took the rose with her. In one hand the rose, in the other hand the document that confirmed that the hospital let her go home. The rose touched her skin. She felt the soft texture caressing her hand. It was almost as if this rose was under a magic spell and spread love all by itself. She looked at it, once more. The petals were moving. Waving in slow motion. She smiled. Surrendered. No questions this time. Before she left the room, she spent a minute observing the monitoring device. It was still functioning. Just a servant. Ready for its next mission. Another patient would come soon. The nurse asked the cleaning staff to prepare the room for the next person. When she turned her back, the device smiled secretly.

On the white walls a big screen appeared. A romantic movie was announced. The main actors known. The device could already watch the very first scene. It saw how they met in the entrance of the hospital. Their hearts and souls on fire. Their smile said it all. This was love, true love this time. He wanted only the best for her. She felt it in her soul. Her beauty from within touched him at the deepest level. They gave each other a gentle hug. It felt so good. Their faces were glowing. Pure happiness. The audience in the hospital noticed that there was something special about them. They could not stop staring at the couple. Behind the two a cloud of magic stardust created the shape of a heart. With ease and grace. To be continued ... said the screen. The device was thrilled ...

- my friend I keep saying that good movie writer is the one who attaches a camera to the words. You have a 360 degrees camera attached to your words and your words therefore shine.

You stir my mind with your opening line "She opened her eyes. Very carefully. Not to break them". I find your imagination so fertile dear You use quite a lot of metaphors and I find myself thinking about them while reading your buzz. So, do you have glassy eyes that break? Are eyes so fragile? In storytelling there is a common adage "Show it and not say it". Again, you wrote "She felt the soft texture caressing her hand. It was almost as if this rose was under a magic spell and spread love all by itself. She looked at it, once more". You know how to show it.
