The Painting With A Catchy Force
He told her about the apartment in the city. With fire in his eyes. He had set his mind on it, like he did with her. The only difference: she did not have to be bought. She was willing to stay. With him. It excited her more than he could tell from her reactions at first sight. His enthusiasm made her falling in love with him even more. She listened to what he was saying in between the lines. He looked like an adventurous school boy, who was becoming victorious in a hunt that he set up to compete with his mates and show his true bravery and strength. To impress his date. His lips moved with steel confidence. A male trait that she was fond of. His hair was a mess. Brushing was not his first priority.
The owner was tired. He wanted to get rid of the apartment. Something happened there and he did not want to go through the same experience again. The details were not revealed. He kept it to himself. But there were rumours. Stories told. By neighbours who witnessed things. From very close. When he visited the apartment, he immediately felt at ease. The environment whispered words of love in his ears. Love making between the materialistic world and a soul chosen to be theirs. The owner saw the light in his face. Could not understand it but then gave all resistance up. He said that he loved the apartment. Its location was perfect. Not too far from her famous hairdresser. She would be thrilled.
The white sheets seemed innocent. The light played hide and seek with all the colors created by the unknown. The painting was dominant in its own format. It had a life force. He could sense it. He decided to keep it all to himself. He did not want to upset the owner. The price. A short discussion. He had to make a call. Just one call. To assess if his banker would argue with the amount or not. His hands were moving with clarity. The car key felt the strong urge to make this apartment his and hers. A voice called his name. He turned his head. The colors of the painting had changed. He wanted to make a remark but again he decided to keep it a secret.
The banker gave him his green light. Now he only had to convince her. She continued to listen to him. His body language seduced her heart and soul. He mastered the art of making her longing for the things which he adored. She fell for it. Each time. Each moment. He was aware of it. It made him feel like a hero. In her eyes. That is all what he wanted. To be considered as her number one. A male's triumph. With a lifelong reward of infinite love and honor. She gave him her consent. She noticed how important the apartment was to him. His eyes looked grateful. She touched his cheeks. Soft and tender like a mother when she wants her child to feel safe, accepted and loved.
Weeks later they moved to the apartment. It was an evening like no other. He offered her a glass of champagne. Both dressed for the night. Naked. Covered by white sheets. It was quiet outside. The city fell asleep with them. Slowly. The painting waited for this precious moment. They were talking to each other. With their souls only. Hands exploring the maps of their skins. Sensual in every way. Suddenly white circles appeared behind them. The painting on the wall had chosen this moment to take action. They both had their eyes closed. A catchy force lifted them up from their bed. The sheets tried to save them but had to let go. The painting had the last word in this story. It wanted them both. It was hungry for their souls. The owner took it with sadness when he heard that the couple disappeared.
He had to look for new people to occupy the apartment. Each year at the same date - exactly matching the hour where they were taken - the painting pictured scenes of passionate love making. They did not know that they had become part of the painting. They made love and forgot the world around them. They were thrilled and happy as little children. They were not demanding more than the elixir of surrendered love. Sometimes you could hear them laugh and it echoed through the whole apartment. The painting never did it again. It only wanted the deepest love. It never touched other couples again. This was the ultimate catch. A painting's dream.
