The Unexpected Love Note

Known that, been there. Not again. She tracks his profile online and sees the unevitable. A serial soul killer. Oh my God, she avoided so much sadness by following her instinct. Social media give wonderful opportunities these days to connect to the whole planet, unfortunately not all human intentions are good. She decides to cut the cords for once and for all. Coming from a protected environment, she is not used to being fooled. Her heart and soul are embedded in divine love. Her father warned her. Her mother knew something was not right. Mothers usually are right. They have a nose for trouble. But daughters only realize that when they are wise enough to admit it.

Two days later she buys an airplane ticket to Dubai. It is expensive but it is worth it. She wants to visit a friend who started a business there. Maybe she joins him in this business. The future is open. Still concerned somehow with her recent discoveries, she packs her things. Summer clothes because it is warm in Dubai. She leaves her apartment in a perfect state. In the airport she is not alone. So many people around her. Holiday season, the most wonderful time of the year. The airplane is half full. She sits nearby a window. In the air, she sees the clouds building the most beautiful shapes. Is this what heaven looks like? She dreams away. She is free and single. For the first time in her adult life. She just loves it.

Yes she is alive and kicking. The world is at her feet. She looks around her and watches the other passengers, they are half asleep. She takes her pencil and starts to write the next chapters of her book. Time passes quickly. The air hostess asks her if she wants to drink something. She nodds. It is quiet. Life is mysterious. The pilot makes a joke. She wonders how old the pilot is. A lovely voice. Her pencil falls down. She makes a bow to get it back. On the floor she finds a little piece of paper. She takes it and reads it. A love note from a man to his beloved one. It says 'I will always love your soul even if you break up with me again and again'. She is touched. 'How deep this love must be', she wonders. The note is signed by a man named David. The mystery of true love, then she falls asleep with the love note in her left hand. The pilot brings her safely at her destination.
