Urgent International Call To Save 'Tane Mahuta', The Lord Of The New Zealand's Forest

New Zealand is looking to find a solution very soon to save their oldest tree 'Tane Mahuta'  from dying. The country is hoping to find tree experts who might know how to handle the kauri dieback disease which affected the forest in which the tree is living …

Tribute to the oldest living kauri tree, Tane Mahuta:

"According to Maori mythology Tāne is the son of Ranginui the sky father and Papatuanuku the earth mother. Tāne was the child that tore his parents' parental embrace and once done set about clothing his mother in the forest we have here today. All living creatures of the forest are regarded as Tāne's children."  (Source: https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/northland/places/waipoua-forest/things-to-do/tane-mahuta-walk/)

Tane Mahuta, the oldest (more than 2500 years old) and tallest (more than 50 meters high) tree of the Maori population (New Zealand) is about to die soon. The tree is located in a forest that suffers from the kauri dieback disease. There is no cure for the disease. But maybe there are forest exerts in the world who know how to respond to the disease. It spreads easily in the forest where the tree is located since ages. It is caused by movement of contaminated soil. The disease approaches the roots of Tane Mahuta.

The Maori population do not only consider the tree as a wonder of nature, a holy symbol, but also see him as a part of their family. If they would lose this tree, it would be the same as losing an essential family member. Ancestors, grandmothers and grandfathers are vital. The life of Tane Mahuta is endangered and the tree needs our help urgently. When people visit this beautiful jewel of nature, they become very silent, as the tree ignites respect. Tane Mahuta radiates strength and ancient wisdom.

There is a beautiful story linked to the tree that you can read here: https://media.newzealand.com/en/story-ideas/tane-mahuta-separator-of-heaven-and-earth/. It is a story about how love and light always win from darkness. Tane Mahuta played a huge role in bringing back love and light into the world. Tane Mahuta is considered to be 'the separator of heaven and earth'. Tane Mahuta is not just a tree but has become a major symbol of love and strength. Why would we neglect the need of this magnificent symbol now?

The Maori people are aware that the tree is very special and without the tree, life would never be the same again. Ancient wisdom and value is not just a source of information. It will forever be true in the hearts and souls of all people worldwide. By saving the oldest tree, we might save ourselves too and respect life more. Do not just read this post, but help saving Tane Mahuta by sharing this post as much as needed to bring it under the attention of the one tree expert that can make a difference for Tane Mahuta.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart

liesbeth, I've passed this along to the only arborist I know via his family. He is somewhere to hell and gone in the middle east where he now teaches because he fell out of tree and broke his back but he may know something to help.

One of those rare buzzes that got me thirsting to know more. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXlXh1xdFCk the commentator mentions and shows some tourists who totally ignore the warnings about contaminated soil. Such people are taking pictures of themselves right by the tree, but hopefully if such pictures are found on the web, that should prove to be grounds to impose fines via their respective nation for endangering such a wonder. This is not the largest tree out there but I can see its sacred qualities as it stands alone among the rest of the forest canopy. Ironically a part from mammals, I see that the other way of this tree being potentially contaminated is through people's shoes - which makes the presence of people disregarding the rules more egregious. By the time I finished reading your buzz the "Tane Mahuta" tree definitely entered my own individual consciousness.
