Who We Marry

I just got married. For the second time in my life. I was not scared to do it. On the contrary. Just a little bit nervous. I was and I am grateful to have found a new compatible love partner for life. I carry some luggage with me that I use as a leverage or let me say as a source of wisdom. Relationships are fascinating. Two human beings come together and walk the path together the best and sometimes the worst they can. Nobody can predict how it goes, and the intentions are most of the time wonderful at the start. What will be different this time? I am. For sure. My partner has grown too.

The exes found somebody new. New cooperations in matters of the heart. Let us hope that everyone has what they were looking for. A new chance to apply the happily-ever-after formula. Before we married, we met others. Yet, we did not marry them. For a whole variety of reasons. Maybe we were not ready yet, maybe they were not ready. Who knows? Marriage is not a must either. Everyone makes their own choices. With a second marriage I feel that I have become more adult in my reactions and furthermore, I have become more tolerant towards myself and my partner. I have learned to accept and love myself for who I am and so I can do the same for my partner.  

A second marriage is still special and contains the wonder of love. This goes never out of style. It feels good that from all the people in the world, this person chooses you above all others. And you do the same for your partner. Life is composed of choices. We choose on a daily basis how our lives develop. A reason to celebrate. There will Always be new chances on many levels to create the life we want. Never be in despair. A brand new day can give a totally different outcome. There is Always light at the end of the tunnel. For everyone. What really matters is that we keep on growing and keep on learning. Aren't we all made to turn into the best versions of ourselves? With time and patience.

Who we marry, matters. But it also matters who we are, when we marry. Commitment is to be taken seriously. Even more today. Trusting, respecting, opening up, allowing, giving, receiving, the love bubbles spread their wings. We are given a beautiful present and now it is a matter of looking with new eyes every day again and again. Let us not take for granted what we receive. Let us never do that. Life seen through the angle of miracles has become so much more precious. Thank you to the persons who helped us to become who we are today. We did not marry them, but they are part of the whole, part of the special story that builds our lives. Who we marry is part of a process. The rose did not turn instantly into its full potential on her way up. It takes time to bloom.
