Director/Senior Director - Continuous Improvement Reginal Lead (GPS)


As the GPS Regional Lead (Senior Director) - Continuous Improvement, you will report to the VP of GPS (GSK Production System) and Smart Manufacturing and be a member of the Global GPS Leadership Team.


Our GSK Production system is the way we improve processes at GSK, and while much progress has been made in the past few years our ambition is to broaden the impact to improve performance in all aspect of our manufacturing operations.


As we look to accelerate our Continuous improvement program and build the GSK production system into our ways of working, we need experienced, engaging leaders to help us on this journey.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead critical activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead the GPS transformation and acceleration across the GSK Manufacturing Network using Continuous Improvement and Smart manufacturing
  • Key focus will be 3 sites in USA,3 in Europe and 2 in UK
  • Lead the Strategy Deployment process to convert Operational strategy into tangible goals
  • Coach senior leadership teams to make GPS a core aspect of site and functional operations
  • Inspire, lead, and influence innovation and synergies across teams
  • Provide hands on support to sites/functions while devising appropriate strategy for sites to solve their business requirements
  • Ability to rapidity resolve complex business problems using structured problem solving
  • Deliver balanced scorecard aspirations while developing continuous improvement capabilities across the network.
  • Support the Manufacturing network in the identification of both financial and nonfinancial benefits associated with GPS Implementation
  • Evolve the production system in line with industry trends to deliver best in class performance
  • Inspire, lead, and influence innovation and synergies across teams

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering
  • 10+ years in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, including experience in manufacturing and or Quality Ops and continuous improvement
  • 5 years of prior experience in Biologics/Vaccines operations
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Lean Black Belt
  • 50% Travel required visiting sites to improve performance.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master Black Belt/Lean Master qualification
  • Possess strong leadership, scientific and business acumen, and ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and ensure compliance to all GSK policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Continuous improvement initiatives and cultural change year on year resulting in both financial and nonfinancial benefit and behavioral change
  • Diagnostic capability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Excellent coaching capabilities.
  • Strong digital acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex problemsolving efforts to achieve business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and navigate without formal authority to deliver on business results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and confidently defend informed recommendations
  • Ability to lead through change and inspire agility/flexibility amongst team
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills
