Skills, knowledge, experience required:


  • 2 years of practical experience in managing change request from initiation to closure while engaging with relevant process owners and stakeholders.
  • Experience and knowledge of:
  • Risk management (BURM8) Level 4;
  • Requirements definition and management (REQM8) Level 2;
  • Configuration management (CFMG8) Level 4;
  • Change control (CHMG8) Level 4;
  • Software Development Life Cycle (HTS0410) Level 1;
  • IT Service Change Management (T3220) Level 2;
  • System Development Life Cycle (T0205) Level 1.

Duties/role:


  • Being responsible for managing all NCI Agency change requests;
  • Carrying out risk management activities within a specific function, technical area, or project of medium complexity;
  • Identifying risks and vulnerabilities, assessing their impact and probability, developing mitigation strategies, and reporting to the business;
  • Involving specialists and domain experts as necessary;
  • Ensuring the configuration items (CIs) are uniquely identified with naming conventions;
  • Contributing to operational processes for secure configuration, classification, and management of CIs, and for verifying and auditing configuration records;
  • Ensuring recommended corrective actions are taken for identified problems and issues;
  • Assessing, analyzing, developing, documenting, and implementing changes based on requests for change;
  • Ensuring that operational processes are in place for effective change control;
  • Developing, configuring, and maintaining tools to manage and report on the lifecycle of change requests;
  • Identifying problems and issues and recommending corrective actions;
  • Identifying common issues and considerations for bringing a new product to the marketplace;
  • Describing major phases, checkpoints, and deliverables;
  • Providing status reports for implemented IT service changes to senior management;
  • Implementing routine changes in a live IT service environment;
  • Generating schedules and time estimates for IT service changes'
  • Participating in analyzing the risks, costs, and benefits of proposed IT service changes;
  • Documenting the procedures and changes made in IT service;
  • Clarifying the similarities and differences among life cycles; easily labeling and describing each phase;
  • Highlighting the major phases, activities, checkpoints, and deliverables in the system life cycle;
  • Assessing and analyzing release components for input to release scheduling;
  • Explaining the basic concepts of tools and methods for software delivery, deployment, and configuration;
  • Ensuring release processes and procedures are followed.
