Process development engineers work closely with Equipment and Material Suppliers and play an indispensable role in building and sharing in-depth knowledge of how physical and chemical processes interact and impact performance.

Depending on your specialism, you will have the opportunity to work on solutions for lithography, etch, deposition, planarization, cleaning and surface treatment, wafer bonding, assembly, packaging, or other semiconductor manufacturing processes.

Your future role

  • Leading a group of 20+ scientists, engineers and assistants dedicated to optimize advanced and challenging litho processes for highend technology inside imec programs (Memory, Logic, 3Di, etc...).
  • Working closely with imec program directors to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Develop competences of the scientist in your group to make them grow towards excellence. Grow engineers and assistants to encourage them to take more responsibilities.
  • Inspire innovation through collaboration with other competences in imec or by performing a survey industry trends. Scientific publications are required and must be encouraged, suggested.
  • Imec has also numerous customers and/or suppliers which are looking for optimized litho processing, the group will be in an instrumental position to serve those needs. It is required that you maintain close relationship with our external customers.
  • You are providing inputs in the decision of tools investments required in the litho area.
  • Ensure proper planning of the process developed and transparent communication is provided towards project owners.
Skillset

  • Ph.
D. in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or similar through experience

  • 10 or more years of handson experience working in an industrial environment or lab
  • 5 or more years of experience in people management
- skillful in at least one or more of the following: lithography, metrology, inspection
- dedicated to delivering as planned
- committed to embracing the ambiguity inherent to an R&D project environment
- flexible team player
- investigative listener
- decisive and persuasive
- proficient English
