The Payroll Team Lead oversees all payroll activities for nine entities, based in our Corporate Office in Brussels.


You will work closely with the payroll assistant to ensure all deadlines are met, comply with new regulations, and handle employee questions and satisfaction.


POSITION & OBJECTIVES:


Job description:


  • Maintain employee & director general master data
  • Ensure proper collection of any evolution in compensation & benefits packages
  • Ensure proper collection of absences with supporting documentation
  • Update payroll records by reviewing changes to exemptions, insurance coverage, and savings deductions
  • Liaise with local payroll for employees on a foreign payroll who are officially posted to Belgium (regarding absences, company car, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly payroll instructions together with an external provider
  • Implement specific expatriate payroll
  • Liaise with accounting on the recording of all payroll costs
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing relevant information
  • Dealing with ad hoc requests from other Group Services teams (compliance, treasury, legal or other financial directors)
  • Report on payroll data
  • Ensure compliance with federal, regional, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; advise internal stakeholders on changes in legislation and on the related actions necessary
  • In collaboration with insurance broker & our internal tax department, drive the followup of pension plan schemes and ensure a strong monitoring of cumulated contributions to pension plans in order to guarantee the respect of applicable (tax) laws & regulations
  • Monitor any change in pension plans and hospitalisation insurance
  • Prepare and send educational leave declarations to receive appropriate subsidies
  • Prepare, record, and follow up purchase orders for payroll expenses
  • Liaise with HR to implement warrants plans (communication, presentation, taxation, etc.)
  • Manage the administrative process in relation to SO plans and make the follow up in terms of taxation
  • Maintain highquality and uptodate professional and technical knowledge to advise internal concerned departments
  • Support processes for new hires and leavers

Qualifications:


Profile description:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, economics or business with an excellent academic track record.
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration and management, of which at least 2 years in a similar role in an international organisation.
  • Able to complete quality analytical work on a timely basis with a great attention to detail.
  • Positive forwardlooking mindset with ability to anticipate needs, prioritise competing deadlines and take initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team player; able to work independently.
  • Confident with handling confidential and sensitive information; strong work ethics.
  • Resistant to stress.

Requirements:


  • Strong command of written and spoken French and English, good written understanding of Dutch.
  • Very good knowledge of compensation & benefit, HR processes & systems, and finance reporting
  • Good knowledge of Belgian labour laws and social regulations, as well as a previous experience with special status/expatriate management.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
