The Digital for Development (D4D) Hub is the global "Team Europe"-initiative inaugurating a new era for digital development cooperation between EU Commission, Member States as well as tech-companies and civil society.

This strategic multi
- stakeholder platform fosters digital ecosystems worldwide through bold international partnerships on digital transformation between its members and partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and EU Eastern Neighborhood. The joint mission is a human-centric approach to digital transformation: Facilitating multistakeholder dialogues, sharing digital expertise and fostering investments of diverse European and global partners for more impact on the ground. On behalf of the European Commission and its Member States GIZ is heading the global D4D Hub Secretariat.

We are looking for a Communication Specialist (M/F/d) for our team in Brussels starting 15/04/2023

The responsibilities of the position include:

Development and implementation of an integrated communication strategy including the management of social media channels
Strategic communications consulting as well as further development of the D4D Hub Brand
Commissioning and managing external communications services
Active participation in the conception, organization and implementation of digital dialogues and multistakeholder events
Support in the preparation of European contributions to national and international political processes and committees
Overseeing and supporting content production including writing and editing texts and creating compelling presentations

Your profile:

Completed university studies in the field of communication sciences, journalism, public relations or another relevant discipline in public relations
Solid professional experience in international collaboration, ideally with partners in the digital ecosystem and/or tech companies
More than five years of experience in the field of political communication, press and public relations ss well as indepth knowledge in the field of digital communication
Proven journalistic writing skills
Strong experience and knowledge of agile methods and project management
Team orientation coupled with analytical and communication skills as well as enjoyment of conceptual work
Business fluent in English and French; knowledge of German and/or Spanish is an advantage

We offer a temporary contract (ends with GIZ in Brussels under Belgian law (PC200). The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience.

In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalisation and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
