Consultant Operational Excellence - Financial Services

The Opportunity

The financial services landscape is currently going through a major upheaval, as banks and insurance firms are facing market challenges, demanding client expectations, competition from Tech and Fintech players, and increasingly complex regulatory matters.

Hence, the focus is on defining new (digital) business model by revolutionizing customer journeys and integrating new concepts and technologies into Bank and Insurance's ecosystems.

At EY we go further than just help our clients to deal these changes: we are part of the change, and help shape the financial sector of the future, which is why we built a strong Operational Excellence practice in Belgium.

Within the Operational Excellence practice, we drive the COO agenda.

We ensure an efficient and optimized operations, starting from the customer journey and based on the Lean principles and latest way of working trends.

In close collaboration with our colleagues from the Technology & Innovation, Data & Analytics and People Advisory Services teams we work on process redesign, taking into account innovative thinking on the latest automation and robotics.

We currently have opportunities in the Operational Excellence practice for capable consultants, at different levels of experience, who have a creative mindset, a drive for processes and get their energy from people and change.

Key Responsibilities
As a consultant in our Operational Excellence team, you will:

Participate to or lead client engagements on the following topics:
Lean programs
Business Process Reengineering
Target Operating Model redesign
Cost reduction analysis

Daily responsibilities include definition of project objectives, organize and facilitate workshops, take interviews and focus group sessions, document process flows (AS & TO), perform root cause analysis, prepare working documents, perform on-the-job coaching, etc.

Contribute to the Operation Excellence working group
Prepare compelling proposals to showcase EY's expertise in this domain

Skills and Attributes for Success

Master's degree in a relevant field (applied economics, commercial engineer, mathematics, applied informatics, etc) or equivalent through experience
Professional experience (between years), either in consulting, and/or in the banking or insurance sector
Knowledge of or a strong interest in Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Reengineering, Target Operating model and or cost reduction
Excellent knowledge of business English, and fluency in French/Dutch
Strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy
Excellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking and pragmatic approach
Solid communication and presentation skills
