The Joint Action 'Capacity for Nutrition (C4N)' is a component of the 'Knowledge for Nutrition (K4N) programme.

K4N has the objective to support the European Commission (EC), its partners, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany with competence and knowledge to inform nutrition related programmes and policies with evidence-based approaches and strategies.

C4N aims to strengthen capacities to enhance the knowledge base of the EC, the EU Delegations, EU Member States and partner countries to advance the fight against all forms of malnutrition.

From January 2023 onwards, C4N will also support the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement and its member countries with the operationalisation of the SUN 3.0 strategy to address nutrition related challenges.

C4N is a key element of the EC's 'Nutrition for Development Programme', which underpins the implementation of the EU's 'Action Plan for Nutrition'.

The overall aim of the programme is to contribute to food and nutrition security, through the promotion of a multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder approach.


Ihre Aufgaben:


Within the component C4N-Advisory placed in Brussels, we offer an exciting set of tasks in a diverse and motivated team, as well as the possibility to bring in new ideas.

The tasks of the intern include, but are not limited to:


  • Conducting research, analyses and technical assessments and processing information on nutrition, food security and related topics
  • Support the development of technical and conceptual ideas on the topics of C4N Advisory as well as support in partner consultation
  • Support in the planning, implementation and followup of technical meetings, webinars and exchanges both in person and remotely
  • Independently contribute to the preparation and summarisation of publications and information materials in the international and European sphere of nutrition and beyond
  • Support for delivering technical assistance and expertise to EC/INTPA, BMZ, EU Delegations, and SUN Movement countries upon request
  • Support the team in knowledge management within the programme and with other GIZ nutrition programmes and support team processes for a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Support in the daytoday work of the project through organisational and technical assistance and processing of public relations materials

Ihr Profil:


  • You are studying in the third semester in Nutrition, Agriculture and Food Sciences, Public Health or related disciplines
  • You are particularly familiar with the international discussion on different aspects of healthy diets, malnutrition, food systems and have a strong personal interest in gaining further qualifications in these topics
  • Ideally, you already have internship or work experience in a developing or emerging country
  • In addition to fluent English, your written and spoken French skills are very good; knowledge of German and Spanish are an advantage
  • You are confident in using Microsoft Office, other IT skills are an advantage
  • Personally, you are characterised by flexibility, organisational competence and very good communication skills. You are teamoriented and at the same time stand out with your independent and structured way of working
  • You are interested in working in the international and European context of Brussels

Hinweise:

We pay a monthly stipend of €1.225;
- (gross). Please note that the contract will be concluded under Belgian law.
