As a Solution Architect specializing in Digital Manufacturing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future architecture of our digital manufacturing platform, ensuring the seamless integration of the digital thread throughout our manufacturing lifecycle.
Leveraging your strong background in IT/OT operations and your expertise in core systems and technologies such as PIMS (Plant Information Management System), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MMS (Maintenance Management System), CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAE (Compute-Aided Engineering), EDM (Electronic Document Management), DCS (Distributed Control System), IIoT (Industrial IoT), LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), among others, you will lead the design and implementation of transformative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive business value.
_Key Responsibilities:
_
- Drive the development and implementation of the future architecture for our Digital Manufacturing platform, with a focus on integrating the digital thread across R&D, Engineering Design and Simulation, and Operations.
- Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint, documenting all solution architecture design and analysis work.
- Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable architectural solutions.
- Participate in the technical board, architecture review board, and cybersecurity reviews to secure architectural compliance.
- Collaborate with the extended EA (Enterprise Architecture) community monitoring micro
- Design and implement cloudbased solutions leveraging leading market providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) to optimize manufacturing processes and enable near realtime decisionmaking.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies and tools to support our digital manufacturing initiatives, considering factors such as performance, scalability, security, and costeffectiveness.
- Champion the concept of the digital thread, ensuring that data flows seamlessly throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, from product design to production to endoflife.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in digital manufacturing, cloud computing, edge computing, and the digital thread, and assess their potential impact on our operations.
About you:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role in digital manufacturing, preferably within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Strong background in IT/OT operations with a deep understanding of core systems and technologies such as PIMS, MES, OEE, MMS, CAD, CAE, EDM, DCS, IIoT, LIMS, among others.
- Handson experience designing and implementing cloudbased solutions using AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar platforms.
- Excellent understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to think strategically and innovate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
- Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, informationtechnology, engineering, system analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- Indepth knowledge of manufacturing processes, Industry 4.0 concepts, and production workflows.
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
- Good understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
- Experience working in a relevant industry is helpful but not required.
- Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
- Experience delivering presentations to seniorlevel executives and technical audiences.
