Organization:

The Expertise Center Operational Excellence is looking for an experienced Data Officer based in Bruxelles.

The Data officer will be part of a larger team located both in Paris and Bruxelles within Operational Excellence and will be working closely with Engie's CWE Power activities operational teams.


YOUR contribution:


Context
The Data Officer is the right-hand man/woman of the Chief Data Officer and works closely with them.

He/she represents the Data Office in use cases and/or specific committees.

His primary mission is to ensure the proper operationalization of Data Governance in relation with all stakeholders. Besides, the Data Officer will assist in meeting Data Governance program objectives, budget constraints and timeline.


Role Data Management implementation in use cases**:

  • Identifies strategic use cases with an opportunity to deploy the governance framework ;
  • Participates in the proper specification and onboarding of new use cases ;
  • Drives data modeling in GEMS strategic data catalog ;
  • Identifies and nominates data roles in use cases especially where data pain points are detected ;
  • Manages of followup action plans including the improvement of data quality checks and remediation.

Transversal Data Management responsibilities:


  • Guarantees the proper evolution of the data catalog and quality of its content ;
  • Assists in developing and updating the Data Office roadmap ;
  • Assists in defining and monitoring KPIs & data objectives allowing to supervise the governance program ;
  • Provides support to enrich and improve the GEMS Data Toolbox (Collibra, Data Quality tooling...) ;
  • Ensures that IS & Enterprise Data Architects are aligned on identified data governance & management activities.

Resource, budget & timeline monitoring:


  • Monitors resource, budget & timeline in use cases ;
  • Assists in monitoring resource & budget availability and allocation for the Data Office.

Change management / Acculturation

  • Communicates and promotes the governance framework to identified audiences using prescribed channels ;
  • Assists in alignment with HR in concerning the development of skills of data actors ;
  • Supports onboarding of new data roles.

Travels
Some occasional trips may be required.


About YOU:


Hard skills

  • Excellence Analytical skills, combined with a handson approach ;
  • Strong understanding of information management tool and trading systems ;
  • The capability and/or interest in code languages (Python etc) ;
  • A good understanding of market finance (hedging, derivatives, etc), of the power business and associated trading strategies are required.

Soft skills

  • Good interpersonal skills ;
  • Eager to learn with a strong business drive ;
  • Well organized and proactive ;
  • Ability to interact with both business and IT teams ;
  • Good knowledge of the energy industry.

Education and professional background


5-10 years professional experience in similar role or in a business analyst capacity with ideally a previous experience in data management initiatives.


Languages
Fluent in French & English
