real estate sector.

As
Tax Manager you will be
responsible for:


About your tax accounting responsibilities:


  • You collect relevant accounting data under IFRS and under local GAAP for tax accounting purposes;
  • You prepare/analyze the tax related financial reporting and calculations under IFRS and local legislation, including, but not limited to income taxes and deferred taxes;
  • You collaborate with the accounting and finance teams for the preparation of IFRS and local GAAP financial statements;
  • You manage ad hoc assistance from external advisors in tax accounting tasks (identify needs in a timely manner, manage relationships with external advisors, and participate in tax accounting technical discussions with experts);
  • You collaborate with external auditors on tax related financial reporting matters;
  • You assist the Director of Tax for tax accounting aspects of real estate, corporate acquisitions and tax projects (collect relevant accounting data, identify ad hoc expertise requirements, translation into relevant tax accounting data and ensure accurate accounting of all tax and levy related transactions);
  • You maintain records of tax payments.

About your tax compliance responsibilities:


  • You collect relevant accounting and tax data for tax compliance purposes;
  • You prepare draft tax computations and returns which adheres to local rules;
  • You collaborate with teams (accounting, finance, HR, real estate, operations, etc.) for the preparation of (in)direct tax and levy returns on a local and European level;
  • You manage ad hoc assistance from external advisors in compliance context (monitoring of compliance process, manage relationships with external advisors, review of draft tax computations and returns);
  • You ensure timely completion of compliance calendar;
  • You organize tax filings and payments.

About your tax advisory responsibilities:


  • You participate to the defense of company's position during local country tax audits (manage contacts with the tax authorities, collect relevant accounting and tax data, ensure smooth and timely Q&A process, collaborate with teams to obtain relevant data, involve and challenge on ad hoc basis external advisors for tax technical matters, escalating key matters to the Director of Tax, assist in communicating tax audit updates to Management);
  • You support the Director of Tax in the identification, the escalation and the mitigation of tax risks (in daytoday practice);
  • You participate with the Director of Tax in e.g. real estate, corporate acquisitions and tax efficiency projects.

About the process and systems:


  • You contribute to European projects: systems, integration of new entities, maintenance of policies and procedures;
  • You strive for continual improvement of tax processes, especially VAT compliance setup;
  • You contribute to the selection, development and rollout IT solutions, such as electronic tax filings.

About the people:


  • You work closely with the legal department and the finance department on all tax related matters/group projects;
  • You collaborate with the other department staff on an ad hoc basis;
  • You play an active role in coaching and developing the (Senior) Tax Specialists.

The required
profile for the
Tax Manager position:


  • You have a master's degree in Economics or Law, preferably with tax specialization or similar through experience;
  • You have at least six years of experience in tax within an international context;
  • You have a solid tax law and accounting knowledge at a European level;
  • Both a Big 4 and industry experience is a strong asset;
  • ERP experience (e.g. Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or JD Edwards) is an asset;
  • Experience in IFRS is a plus;
  • You have a fluent knowledge of English. Dutch or French is a strong asset. Any other European language skills are considered as a plus;
  • You have coordination and management skills;
  • You are not afraid of responsibilities and process/data ownership;
  • You are a problem solver who identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyses information skillfully and develops alternative solutions;
  • You are analytical and able to synthesize diverse information;
