The Client is in charge of developing, maintaining, and operating the DG's information systems at the three different geographical sites.

The unit works directly with the policy units on digital solutions to implement the Client's policies and manages the local IT infrastructure and support.

The mission is to:
- improve and protect human health, and support the modernization of Europe's health systems
- ensure that all food, feed, and medicinal products marketed in the EU are safe and that EU standards are promoted globally
- protect animal health and welfare and plant health
- contribute to a well-functioning and fair internal market in food

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

The following tasks will be performed:

[Essential] Implement core business logic
Understanding and implementation of security and data protection

[Essential] Design and develop APIs

Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
Maintenance of code integrity and organization

[Essential] Writing clean, functional code on the back-end

Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement

[Essential] Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues

Write technical documentation

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

The minimum educational qualification corresponds to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a
bachelor's degree of 3 years.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
The following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

7 years of specific expertise in Back-end languages and frameworks, in particular,
Java (JDK8 or later)
At least
7 years of specific expertise in the Web development cycle and programming techniques and tools; in particular
JEE (version 7 or later),
XML, and
SOAPbased web services (e.g.
JAX-WS)
At least
7 years of specific expertise in Database technology, specifically
Oracle RDBM:
At least
5 years of specific expertise in Code versioning tools such as
Git or
SVN:
At least
5 years of specific expertise in Using issuetracking, continuous integration, and collaboration tools such as the
Atlassian tool suite, in particular,
Jira,
Confluence, and
Bamboo (or equivalent)
