Tasks
As a Senior Scientist at Aquature, you will be at the forefront of research and development, contributing to the improvement and design of microbial electrolysis technologies and other bioelectric solutions.
Your expertise will play a vital role in driving our mission to accelerate the energy transition and promote efficient resource utilization in industries that are challenging to decarbonize.
Key Tasks:
- Conduct advanced scientific research in the field of microbial electrochemical technologies and (waste)water technology
- Lead the improvement, development, and design of bioelectrochemical systems, with a focus on microbial technologies
- Manage laboratory activities, ensuring efficient operation, safety compliance, and effective documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and team members
- Collaborate with external partners, academia, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of technological advancements
Requirements:
- PhD in Bioengineering, Electrochemistry, Environmental Science, or related fields
- Extensive experience in wastewater technology and (bio)electrochemical research, with a focus on microbial electrolysis/electrosynthesis and anaerobic fermentation
- Strong background in experimental design as well as data acquisition, analysis, presentation and reporting
- Track record of relevant scientific publications and conference presentations
- Experience in laboratory management, documentation, standardization and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus
- Collaborative, flexible, creative, committed and growthoriented mindset as well as ability to work effectively within crossfunctional teams
