We are looking for a
Commercial Solutions & Launch Lead Rare International Markets to join us in our European Rare Disease team based in our
HQ, Brussels, Belgium (preferred).


About the role
International Markets is a highly dynamic region, with UCB operating in different countries through local affiliates or strategic partnerships.

UCB provides medicines and solutions to many patients throughout the region, but the unmet patient & healthcare needs remain high.


Who you'll work with:

The Commercial Solutions & Launch Lead Rare will work in close collaboration with Global RDO Assets & Brands Commercial team as well as the IM Regional Launch Excellence Lead for Rare and the cross functional regional IM team (APEX, Medical, Regulatory, Operations, Legal, Compliance, PV, etc.)

The role reports to the Solutions Head Rare & Neuro, International Markets.


What you'll do

  • Driving the Rare launch preparation and commercial strategy for IM and providing leadership contribution to the Neurology International Markets regional Hub team
  • Develop and lead the cross functional Launch & Patient Value Brand Plan (PVBP) for the RDO assets within IM, including cross alignment with other regions (US, EU & JP)
  • Support local IM Markets in collaboration with global RDO Patient Care, Device & Professional Care Solutions teams to develop and implement our patient support program (ONWARD) (as needed), engaging with the relevant internal and external stakeholders to support patients living with rare diseases
  • Implement key IM/global RDO marketing campaigns for disease awareness, promotional campaign, events & training to support launch success and readiness
  • Be an active member of the IM and Global Assets network to proactively share launch learnings, country insights to help shape and refine Global and IM strategies/projects.
  • Proactively partner with Medical, APEX and Patient engagement to identify and implement meaningful patient value solutions to support patients living with rare diseases
  • Support local IM Markets and RDO to drive the use of a broad range of different channels to optimize omnichannel (OC) strategies, planning and solution development to support HCP and patient engagement
  • Identify and implement competitor defense strategies in collaboration with IM countries, the IM regional team and Global RDO counterparts
  • Working with the Solutions Head Rare & Neuro and IM Regional Launch Excellence lead to design and deliver against launch metrics (KPI's) to track and monitor progress against plans
  • Support the Solutions Head Rare & Neuro with broader commercial initiatives including brand forecasting, market share, market research planning and OPEX management
  • Engage and manage external agencies/vendors to successfully implement initiatives within budget and agreed timelines to support IM launches
  • Actively contributes and has a shared accountability for the IM neurology objectives
  • Lead and maintain an active regional commercial/solutions community for optimal sharing and crossfertilization across IM markets and (other) regions
  • Define the commercial, marketing & PEX training needs, objectives and the annual training plan at regional level and coordinate execution with L&D
  • Support and rollout commercial/SFE/PEX excellence capability initiatives in partnership with RDO global and Learning & Development (L&D) teams

education, experience
and
skills

  • Bachelors'/ Master's / MBA degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required
  • Minimum 7 years in stakeholder facing roles in specialty, with preference for rare diseases
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in brand/commercial roles in specialty or rare diseases
  • Successful track record of sales and/or marketing, ideally within specialty or rare diseases
  • Experience in rare diseases and launching orphan drugs considered a plus
  • Successful track record of initiating and leading crossbusiness/crossfunctional planning, collaborating and solution building
  • Demonstrated experience of identifying and implementing meaningful solutions for patients
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of IM Ecosystems, market access/ HTA landscapes considered a plus
  • Experience of leading and managing cross functional teams or matrix management collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience of governance activities and their pragmatic implementation
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong Negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to critically analyze complex data; strong analytics and insight driven
