Job Description:


The Sales Manager Performance Tapes Europe is responsible for the Territory Sales account management organization in Performance Tapes Europe. You will be part of the commercial leadership team and report to the Sr. Director Commercial Performance Tapes Europe. In this role you will play a key role in translating marketing plans and strategies into effective operational tactics to be carried out by the territory sales account managers. You provide direction into our solutions selling approach, establishing clear goals, strategies and initiatives and driving the necessary changes to ensure achievement of the Performance Tapes financial and non-financial metrics.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Deliver short term and long term financial results in order to drive profitable growth and build a strong pipeline of new opportunities that support long term growth
  • Actively engage in utilizing company best practices and process improvement to increase the efficiency of the sales team and profit margins.
  • Strong focus on process and utilization of CRM as an enabler to increase customer satisfaction and sales productivity
  • Translate market trends and customer needs into actionable goals that create competitive advantage and inform future growth strategies
  • Establish pricing programs and strategies together with product management
  • Provide sales leadership and focus on enabling the success of the business within the segments (Building & Construction, Automotive, General Industry, Personal Care)
  • Oversee the creation and management of territory and account strategies to deliver on price and mix objectives
  • Manage, coach and develop the team of territory managers. Perform general management responsibilities, i.e., performance appraisals, training and development, setting team and individual goals, ensuring completion and compliance
  • Support in developing and implementing the Commercial strategy and lead longterm Sales strategies that are geared toward developing greater market share and profitability
  • Close collaboration with marketing, business development, key account management and customer service
  • Plan and prioritize resources and operational challenges
  • Prepare and manage sales and mix annual operating plans and expense budgets
  • Act as a role model for the Avery Dennison Code of Conduct of business ethics and values

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years business experience, emphasizing Sales desired. Managerial or related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated successful experience in a sales position that involved negotiating complex transactions with upperlevel management positions or similar experience
  • Excellent customer needs assessment skills and expert negotiation skills/experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Skilled in effectively coaching, teaching, and developing solid Sales and negotiation skills within the sales team.
  • Skilled in conducting territory analysis and planning
  • Strong financial and business acumen; ability to understand short and longterm consequences and skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, invoice totals, percentages, bonuses, etc.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Strong customer focus and orientation
