The role, at a glance:

As Biamp Europe's General Accountant, you will be a key member of the Biamp Europe finance team, located in Schoten (Belgium), that delivers timely, accurate and insightful financial reports and analytics to support business performance measurement and data driven decision making.

In this role your primary responsibility will be the company's general ledger, month end entries, account reconciliations and all local compliance matters.

You will also play an important role in the monthly financial reporting and analysis procedures of the Biamp group.

You will be able to independently research and resolve issues, as we identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

We believe that further automatization and efficiency increases through the use of technology are essential to further grow our people as well as our business.

That's why the company is investing in a new ERP platform that will enable this further growth.

Part of your role will be to help driving these changes in the coming years so that we can build a future-proof and scalable finance organization, which takes advantage of the latest technological evolutions and tools.

How you'll contribute:

Prepares and enters month end journals for Biamp Europe NV and other European group companies, including month end accruals, deferrals, adjustments to balance sheet reserve accounts, and account reclassifications as necessary.
Drives and owns the closing process.
Calculates and posts intercompany invoices each month between companies of the Biamp group.
Maintains, tracks, and periodically audits fixed asset databases.
Assists in budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
Plays an active role in analyzing and explaining changes and budget deviations to the business.
Helps with improving business processes and can act as key point of contact for Finance when discussing and implementing cross departmental business process changes or improvements.
Prepares audit and tax work papers as requested.
Reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly, investigates reconciling items, and proactively resolves and prevents posting errors from occurring in the future.
Prepares and files VAT, intrastat declarations, local statutory financial statements, tax returns, and other local filings as requested.
Provides coaching and support to less experienced members of the team.
Assists Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
5+ years general accounting experience.
Experience with major ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX2012 a plus).
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Fluent in Dutch and English, French is a plus.
