What you'll do

You are responsible for the legal aspects in the fields of M&A transactions (incorporation of companies, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, etc.), corporate governance and corporate sustainability. You also deal with questions about company law and competition law.
You are responsible for the organization of the general shareholders' meeting of the company and the corporate housekeeping of a number of the company subsidiaries. In both roles you take on a corporate secretary position.
You identify the legal risks and opportunities within these domains, you determine their impact on the company and you provide advice to senior management.
You are responsible for the drafting and revision of all relevant documents within these domains.
You keep uptodate with all new relevant legal initiatives and legislative modifications in these domains.
If necessary, you work together with other (legal) services within the company.
You represent the views of the company both internally and externally if necessary.
Knowledge and/or experiende in other law areas within the context of enterprise law is an asset (e.g. privacy).

Who we're looking for

You are fluent in English, Dutch and French
You completed a Belgian master's in law
You have a proven experience of 5 to 8 years as a lawyer or as an inhouse legal counsel in M&A, company law and corporate governance.
A broader knowledge and/or experience in competition law is an asset
You have excellent communication skills
You have strong strategic analysis skills
You are autonomous, result oriented, organised and analytical

Localisation: Brussels Centre & homeworking.

Min 2 days/week physical presence required at the Brussels office + more physical presence required if necessary for professional reasons (e.g. important meeting).

permanent contract as a Consultant :a salary in line with the market with competitive fringe benefits.
