About the company
Qplox is a fast-growing company offering test and automation engineering. Headquartered in Leuven, with offices in Barcelona and Eindhoven.
Our clients are major multinational enterprises and local companies from automotive, semiconductors, RF, consumer electronics.

Our Test automation group offers a one stop shop for design of automated test benches, system integration production, lab automation and data acquisition systems, with a growing focus in IoT sensor networks.

Our consultancy department offers services in RF, semiconductors and electronics design and test, as well as on the crossing roads of Nanotechnology, Bio-Science Engineering and Biotechnology.

The assignment

Work embedded in the technical project team, with a clear focus on detecting innovative new ideas generated by the team.
Pick up and work out further the inventions by performing an 'intake discussion' with the inventors, after which you will structure, document and prepare a high quality IDF to be discussed further with the patenting team.
Prepare and maintain a structured overview of the invention funnel across the projects you will be assigned to.
Align priorities on IDFs with management stakeholders.

Location:
Leuven

You hold a PhD or MSc in Engineering, with a focus on electronics, physics or equivalent by experience, with at least a few years as an expert technical contributor in an innovation driven role.
You have a strong interest in broadening your expertise and want to get familiar with the IP generation and patenting side. You are structured and comfortable to reason at an abstract level, without going into every detail.
Experience with the patenting process is a plus but is not required. Building up experience on how to use our customer Invention Disclosure process will be part of the onthejob training.
A team player with excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
Willingness to work at the our customer facilities in Leuven is required.

In addition

You will work together with various technical project teams to keep a clear view on the technical content, challenges and innovation that is happening in the teams and form the liaison to the internal patenting department that will take over the formal process of the patenting/IP work.
