Position summary
The Team Leader role consists in supervising and developing a team of lab technicians (512 people) active in the chemical QC release testing of Zoetis products. His/her main objective is to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the process, in respect with Corporate, GMP, quality and EHS principles. The Team Leader must be a committed team player and collaborator.
Main responsibilities
Supervise technician team and operational needs.
Coordinate the activity in line with the expected timeline and with the agreed expectations of the different departments collaborating with the lab. Maintain the visual planification tool up to date.
Provides leadership and clear communication inside and outside QC
Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the activity, including support for technical problem solving
Supervise the development and training of colleagues
Ensure that the activity meets Corporate, GMP, EHS and quality standards, in compliance with departmental procedures. Ensure validity of lab procedures and compliance status.
Investigate lab deviations and Out of Specification Results (OOS) using DMAIC tools to ensure that the root cause is identified and correctly eliminated and by following our internal investigation process
Represent the department by actively attending meetings with the different stakeholders of the activity
Ensure followup of the different Metrics of the activity
Provide leadership and support to maintain a safe and accidentfree environment
Actively coordinate the transfer of new analytical methods and ensure documentation review
Education and experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in science or related field
At least three years of experience in the pharma industry
Effective team management experience is a plus
Technical skills and competencies
Effective knowledge of main analytical chemistry technics (HPLC, UPLC, GC, atomic absorption, UV, IR, titration,)
Knowledge of GMP principles
Strong integrity and motivation
Qualityoriented and rigorous mind with a high level of flexibility
Ability to manage priorities, to plan and coordinate different activities
Ability to supervise, train and motivate technicians to meet defined objectives and daily testing schedule
Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and team/group interactive and leading skills
Strong commitment to product quality, customer service, and continuous improvement
Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to investigate deviations and Out of Specification Results
Demonstrated good English knowledge (oral and written)
