You will join a team off... where you will report to the Head of Data Protection Worldline Merchant Services and Head of Compliance Western, Eastern and Central Europe. As Data Protection Officer, you are familiar with legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. You will operate locally while in an international environment and work closely with various teams in the organization (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales ).


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • You inform and advise on colleagues who process personal data of their obligations as per the regulation and other local data protection provisions
  • You monitor compliance with data protection law and enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • You are based in Worldline's Brussels office, working alongside other Merchant Services Compliance colleagues, to promote a culture of compliance.
  • You assess the business's future ventures to identify possible data protection compliance risks.
  • You oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of GDPR regulation.
  • You maintain a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization's privacy policies and procedures.
  • You provide guidance, advice, and act as visionary towards the business regarding compliance by design and strive for the implementation of best practices/methodologies across critical areas of the business.
  • You review the Art. 30 Register of Processing Activities (RoPA) to ensure that it is uptodate, accurate and complete.
  • You handle Data Subject Requests in accordance with set procedures and within 30 days.
  • You perform or supervise the business in the performance of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) to determine mitigating measures relevant to the risk level.
  • You provide regular data protectionrelated training of regulations and company procedure updates.
  • You provide advice and/or training (internal training) to the business and to the Board of Directors.
  • You maintain contacts with Supervisory Authorities and act as the point of contact on issues relating to processing of personal data, including prior consultation as specified in Art. 36 of the GDPR.

In practice this means:

  • Solid knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or equivalent.
  • Master's in Law or equivalent level.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in privacy and data protection compliance.
  • Experience in an ecommerce, bank, or payment industry environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Affinity with IT and ITrelated projects, fundamentals of information security and ecommerce.
  • Results driven and persistent.
  • Multicultural mindset and flexibility, able to work in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, both verbally and written. Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the payment industry is a plus.
