EURACTIV is an independent pan-European media network specialising in EU policies. We spark and nourish policy debates among stakeholders, including government, business, and civil society. We cover policy processes upstream of decisions, summarising the issues without taking sides.

The EURACTIV Network provides free localized EU policy news in 13 languages. Together with our media partners, we reach over 1.7 million users across Europe and beyond, every month.

With 2,5 million page views and over 1 million unique readers per month, EURACTIV is a leader among online media specialized in EU policy.

We address 80% of our readers in their own language.

EURACTIV has an original business model, based on five elements (corporate sponsoring, Euractor membership, advertising, EU projects, and content syndication).

It is well funded and the content usage is free.

To strengthen our editorial team in Brussels, we are currently recruiting a:

Journalist to cover digital and technology

EURACTIV is looking for an experienced reporter with a keen interest in all things digital, from technology, 5G, telecoms, Internet, to platforms, regulation, disinformation and cybersecurity.

Main responsibilities:

Write breaking news stories, interviews, as well as indepth and background articles for a specialised audience
Write indepth policy briefings and special reports to deadline
Conduct interviews with highlevel officials, including EU Commissioners, MEPs, business leaders and policy experts
Moderate events, both facetoface and online
Identify topics for interactive debates
Contribute to meeting EURACTIV's editorial mission and commitment to balanced reporting

Profile:

At least two years of experience in journalism, preferably with focus on digital
University degree in journalism and/or political science
Strong Englishlanguage writing skills with journalistic portfolio
Deep knowledge of EU policies
Ability to deliver accurate stories in a fastpaced environment
Ability to think quickly and provide insights and perspective on reports coming from a wide variety of sources, including EU institutions, business associations and civil society
Hardworking, able to respect tight deadlines, entrepreneurial, teamplayer
Online publishing, mobile publishing, social media, and information management experience
Other European languages, as well as interest in producing multimedia content, are an asset
Interested in working as an independent contractor
