The Government Affairs Team in Europe is looking for an intern to support the policy and advocacy work in the Dow Brussels Office.
The department that will welcome you is the Government Affairs and Public Policy department in Europe, who is in charge of analyzing the business environment where the company operates from a public policy perspective, identify threats and opportunities and develop advocacy strategies to ensure Dow's license to operate.
The intern will be in charge of supporting the team's efforts in the analysis of EU Commissions' policy initiatives, the assessment of the impact on the business, the monitoring of the policy making process, the building of key messages, the mapping of stakeholders and the development of engagement activities, with particular focus on circular economy policies among other sustainability areas.
She would be involved in the monitoring and assessment of policy files like the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation, the Construction Products Regulation, the End of Life of Vehicles Regulation and the Sustainable Textiles Strategy among other circularity initiatives.
She will work closely with the Government Affairs team in Brussels and the MS as well as SME in the businesses and functions.
She will participate in strategy calls with GA, issue team meetings in Europe and global calls, if required. She will also be a contact point for the GA agencies in Brussels, like Teneo and FIPRA.Qualifications:
- You are currently studying for a Master's degree or equivalent in European Studies.
- You have a good working knowledge of English as well as Spanish, French, Dutch and Catalan.
- You have had experience dealing with multicultural environments.
- You have deep interest in sustainability matters.
- You can start between February and March 2023 for a period of 6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
