Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies is recruiting for a
Scientist , Global Discovery Bioanalysis located in Beerse, Belgium.


The scope of this role will include:

Responsible for all technical aspects of bioanalytical method development activities to characterize in vivo PK and biodistribution for early discovery and non-clinical stage projects.


Perform routine study bioanalysis for _in vivo _or matrix characterization from discovery study samples with critical focus on maintaining delivery of project data.


Collaborate within discovery bioanalysis function to identify appropriate bioanalytical methodologies and establish capabilities based on lab capacity and discovery site strategies.


Accountable for the interpretation and presentation of complex data sets at cross functional team meetings as well as BDDS and PSTS (Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety) scientific discussions.


Represent bioanalytical function on discovery and pre-NME portfolio programs through membership on cross functional discovery project teams to advance Janssen R&D drug discovery portfolio.

Proactively interrogate existing methodologies to develop process improvements while investigating feasibility of new techniques or analytical platforms for implementation.

Coach and cross-train BDDS staff on scientific strategy and technical details of various bioanalytical methodologies.


Qualifications:


Required:

PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related degree with of 1-3 years, MS with 6 years, or BS with 8 years in pharmaceutical research and development is required;
Strong scientific background and proven track record in bioanalytical method development using various technical platforms to support PK/PD for biopharmaceutical molecules is required;
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work across internal or external teams in a matrixed environment is required.

Ability to work with human and animal blood or biological tissue specimens is required;
Extensive hands-on experience with immunoassays/ligand binding assay development and troubleshooting is required;
Experience with collection, processing, and bioanalysis in tissue matrices is required;

Ability to work under limited supervision with a high level of autonomy with good documentation and organization skills is required.


Preferred:

Experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery research highly preferred;
Experience in quantitative PCR or hybridization techniques is highly preferred;
Experience in large molecule hybrid LC-MS (peptide/subunit quantitation and intact characterization) is highly preferred;
Previous experience in novel modalities such as antibody-drug conjugates, oligonucleotides, and gene therapy platforms is preferred;
Prior managerial experience is preferred.
