The opportunity:

EY is growing and for that reason, we are looking to expand our European Commission (EC) Assurance Team.

As an Auditor within the EU Audit Department, you'll work under the direct supervision of the Assurance Partner and you will be in charge of managing different audit assignments under several framework contracts between EY and the European Institutions.

Since you will lead and manage audit assignments worldwide, this role will involve worldwide traveling up to 70% of your time.

Key responsibilities:

You will lead and perform audit assignments on different thematic areas funded by the European Union, such as external/development/humanitarian aid, research & Innovation, migration and justice, etc. across the globe;
You will be in touch with the client and the auditee on a daily basis;
You will be in charge of the preparation of the audit fieldwork, establishing the riskbased audit strategy, and setting up the audit program;
You will manage an international audit team onsite who will execute the audit fieldwork under your supervision;
You will work crossborder with different teams in different time zones using digital audit tools;
You will supervise each member and make sure they are provided with clear instructions, this way ensuring that they will grow professionally. The development of our employees remains key;
You will draft the audit reports that are to be submitted to the European Commission;
You will closely monitor assignment deadlines and deliverables, ensuring that your projects run timely and efficiently.

Your profile:

You have a Master's degree in economics or finance;
You have at least 3 years of experience in leading financial audits or audit agreeduponprocedures assignments within the context of the European Commission;
An audit certification is considered a big asset;
You have knowledge of and experience in the rules and financial regulations of EU funding programs and EUfunded projects;
You are very fluent in English. Knowledge of any other language would be considered an asset (especially Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic, and Russian);
You have excellent organizational skills, are processoriented, and have a wellstructured working style;
You are an excellent communicator and have good interpersonal skills;
You are an internationalminded team player, able to keep up in a fastpaced setting;
You are a true initiator and are able to anticipate, propose and implement solutions;
You have an interest in looking for innovative solutions and working in an increasingly digital audit environment.
