MISSION:

In the framework of the European offshore ambitions, and more specifically the development of renewable energy in the Northern Seas, nine countries (Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, France, Ireland, Norway, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Denmark) around the Northern Seas have decided to work together on realizing these ambitions.

The transmission system operators of the above-mentioned countries are engaged to support this collaboration and are working together to define concrete offshore architecture for the future and concrete policy recommendations to tackle the non-infrastructure hurdles (markets, regulation, standardisation,...) which are currently slowing down offshore development.

Such a collaboration is very beneficial for European development, as it allows to accelerate offshore development whilst minimizing costs and maximizing benefits, by evolving from a national perspective to a more regional perspective.

Furthermore, energy autonomy for Europe as a whole is also an important driver.

As Belgium's potential for renewable domestic energy is limited, it is also in the best interest of Belgian society that this initiative delivers on its ambitions in order to guarantee access to offshore renewable energy for Belgian society.

As such, the company is engaged to make this initiative a success and deliver the required support to make this happen.

Given the high number of involved parties - the Electricity Transmission System Operators from the involved countries, but also the gas and hydrogen system operators - a motivated and efficient Program Management Officer is essential.
