This role will place you at the heart of a high-performing, dynamic, agile EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team, part of a global network of 3,000 experts in sustainability worldwide that is committed to helping clients build long-term value.

As Manager, you will be using our clients to achieve their sustainability ambitions.

Your expertise will help the main actors in different industries to mitigate risks while addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and ensuring compliance with the existing and new reporting standards.


This opportunity will enable you to work with leading organizations at a senior level and interact with EY colleagues globally.

Our CCaSS team in Belgium has specific expertise in ESG strategy, audit and reporting; circular economy, packaging and ,decarbonization. There will also be ample opportunity
- to work across different areas within the wider team.


The job:


For our corporate clients, you will:

  • Set up sustainability strategy plans and develop new business opportunities
  • Support their sustainability journey, from strategy and implementation to reporting
  • Advise, review, and audit nonfinancial information
  • Ensure compliance with the new reporting regulations (such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR);
  • Perform ESG due diligence

Skills and attributes for success:


  • Experience of business strategy and operations, with either a strong financial background and/or experience in the field of ESG strategies, impact measurement, and nonfinancial reporting;
  • Passion to help clients improve their sustainability in the long term by driving the development of intangible value drivers such as talent, innovation, corporate governance, and the creation of societal value;
  • Ability to learn and to quickly understand new concepts outside of your area of expertise;
  • Ability to think strategically, but also identify, develop, and implement insightful and practical solutions;
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills and the ability to solve new problems;
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to network effectively within large organizations and build relationships with colleagues and clients;
  • Ability to lead new business development by highlighting potential opportunities for new engagements and responding to tenders.

Your background:


You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in ESG strategy and nonfinancial reporting frameworks;
  • Exposure to financial and nonfinancial reporting and/or regulatory reporting;
  • Knowledge of the CSRD (Corporate Social Responsibility Directive) and the EU taxonomy;
  • Exposure to finance functions at corporate institutions e.g. strategy, policy, procedures, and controls or an understanding of the policies, procedures, and controls needed to support nonfinancial reporting;
  • Working and effectively communicating with team members with different technical backgrounds;
    Development of other team members by sharing knowledge, delegating work, and (in)formal coaching and counseling;
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, for example, engineering, sustainable development, environmental science, chemistry or finance, and economics: relevant professional qualifications are an advantage;
  • Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends and how they link to business value;
    Full working proficiency in English, Dutch and/or French both in writing and spoken
