  • Minimum of 4 years of handson experience in community or volunteer organizing, coalition building, or advocacy, with a specific emphasis on allyship and intersectionality within environmental or social justice contexts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate and build strong relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in facilitating dialogues, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Proficient in project management, including the ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing events, workshops, and activities
  • Knowledge and connection with the climate movement and social movements
  • Demonstrated understanding of and dedication to incorporating justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into all aspects of the work. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fastpaced environment, adapting to changing priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Basic digital/ITskills (spreadsheets, editing docs in Google Drive).
  • Basic budget/project management skills.
  • Handson, pragmatic, solution
- and people oriented mindset.

  • Selforganized and able to work autonomously.
  • Driver license B.
  • Working some evenings and weekends is ok.
  • Language: English and at least one of French or Dutch.

DESCRIPTION:


  • Greenpeace is a global environmental justice organization. In an increasingly complex world, the organization has embraced the principles of working with allies, advocating for social justice, and integrating intersectionality into its mission. This approach is rooted in the understanding that environmental problems cannot be effectively addressed in isolation but require collaboration and consideration of diverse perspectives._
  • The establishment of an Allyship Coordinator position at Greenpeace is a strategic move to strengthen the organization's impact and effectiveness in the face of global environmental justice challenges. By fostering alliances, promoting inclusivity, facilitating crossmovement collaboration, providing tools and trainings, and amplifying allies outreach, this role plays a pivotal part in our mission, creating positive change through collective action and solidarity._

_Tasks & responsibilities__:
_ Design and execute allyship strategies that strengthen Greenpeace's relationships with diverse communities, social justice organizations, and other stakeholders.

  • Engage with and listen to allies and communities affected by environmental issues to ensure their perspectives are considered in Greenpeace's campaigns and initiatives.
  • Develop & coordinate contacts, a network, collaboration & support with grassroots organisations, coalitionsin and outside the climate movement aiming for more intersectionality (AntiRacism, Feminism, LGBTQIA+, Antipoverty, Labour unions )
  • Lead and facilitate the Allies WG, providing centralized financial, logístical, mobilization & communication support to allies beyond our campaign activities.
  • Liaison between organizations and movements & the Greenpeace campaigns, if needed as part of a campaign team
  • Represent Greenpeace at community events, conferences, meetings and cooperate in coalition(s) like Code Rouge, Anti-Racism, Climate Coalition
  • Develop & implement Allyship strategy in
- and outside campaign teams

  • Support & community management of allies & events through Greenwire, newsletter, activities.
  • Organize & host activities & trainings for the allies & volunteer community.
  • Develop projects and partnerships to make the climate movement more intersectional in collaboration with campaign teams & JEDIS (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Safety)officer.
  • Stay informed about social justice issues, intersectionality, and inclusivity best practices to continually improve allyship initiatives.
