POLITICO is looking for an entrepreneurial, results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and growing Media Solutions Sales team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop outreach strategies to build relationships and drive revenue with new clients
- Manage clients on a daytoday basis, working closely to understand their business challenges
- Maintain a thorough understanding of client's business and lead strategic advice across teams
- Owns the response to client briefs ensuring that the delivered output is best in class and addressing client's targets and objectives, demonstrating a deep understanding of media channels
- Develop strong relationships with agency, client, and media owner contacts
- Keep updated on competitive trends within assigned industries
- Scan the market and develop strategies to acquire new accounts
- Drive innovation and fresh thinking
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales results
- Conceptualize, prepare, and deliver sales presentations
- Embody the successful brand presence of POLITICO in the market, represent POLITICO at member briefings, network events and industry conferences
- Bring energy and thrive in a highvolume, fastpaced environment
Qualifications
- Required qualifications: _
- 24+ years of professional experience
- Experience in consultative selling and/or campaign management with the ability to craft insightful solutions
- An in depth understanding of all media channels as well as a working knowledge of client marketing and advertising
- Inspiring presentation skills and pitches
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong client services ethic
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and recognize business critical matters while remaining adaptable
- A university degree is required
- Fluent English and French, written and spoken; any other European language a plus
- Preferred qualifications: _
- Experience in meeting or exceeding high sales targets and managing client relationships
- Experience with the Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint to be used in presentations
- Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM tools
- Interest in and understanding of current European political and policy issues
- Outgoing nature and a cando attitude
- An organized operator who thrives under the demands of clients
- Gravitas and confidence, someone who can comfortably communicate with all levels of people within a business
- Sense of humor
- This is a fulltime, officebased position located in Brussels and involves some travel across Europe.
