Data Architect - Freelance - Hybrid - Belgium

Robson Bale are looking for a Data Architect to come on board for an initial 6 month contract in Belgium.

6 months, market rate.

2 days per week on site in Mechelen

Roles & Responsibilities:

Understanding needs of the business, collecting business and technical requirements, and shaping solutions that are answering the need of the business.

You will be in charge of the design and delivery of qualitative solutions that will guide the delivery teams

Ensure alignment between business unit and corporate objectives and goals

You build architectural narratives with a clear story and positioning towards ITS as well as the business stakeholders

You enable the (delivery) teams to build the necessary technical knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues in your area of expertise

Skills & qualifications
You are solution driven and you have a strong analytical mindset, combined with creative skills.

You have a strong business acumen and enjoy the challenge of understanding what the business does and/or needs

You have experience in leading (both design and delivery) projects relating to cloud modernization, cloud-based data platforms and how to guide the business to derive value added services

You have about 5-10 years of recent experience as a cloud (data) architect, designer, developer, or data engineer

You have a background in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field

You enjoy both the aspects of enterprise architecture, as well as the hands-on delivery of the solution

Conceptual and hands-on working knowledge of topics & solution strategies as data lakes, data fabric, data meshes, data streaming solutions

Conceptual and hands-on working knowledge of cloud native computing, with a specific hands-on expertise on AWS data capabilities for both structure and unstructured data handling

Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, Oracle, SQL, python is expected.

Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus

Conceptual and hands-on working knowledge of topics & solutions as FAIR data, data science, machine learning, deep learning, AI, )

Good understanding of enterprise design & data storage, processing & presentation patterns, levering cloud & distributed computing capabilities.

Experience in documentation of architectural diagrams in Archimate.

You are passionate about new technologies and modern architectural patterns

You have experience in vetting and positioning new technologies in the organization to fill the gaps in the ecosystem

You take ownership and you are accountable and responsible for your designs and solutions

You are an enthusiastic, driven, and proactive person

You have strong verbal/written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with business and technical stakeholders

Development skills in a few modern programming languages

Experience and knowledge in the bio-tech/pharma industry, specifically in a research domain related data projects.

Experience in working in SAFE environment

6 months, market rate.
