Going back to Africa has been a long held ambition of mine, which I hope to fulfil this year. I very much enjoy working with children. I worked as a teaching assistant for children with special needs in Ireland, and also looked after children while working in nurseries in Belgium, and

with Club Med in Egypt. I found each of these experiences to be extremely rewarding.

During my time as a teaching assistant in Peru and in Africa I relished the opportunity to witness children’s growth and development.I realised the importance of allowing each child to grow and develop at their own pace, and to be a support system for them so that they can learn in the most useful and productive way.

I like to think I have several personality traits that would be necessary to becoming a good teacher. Feedback has suggested that I am patient and compassionate with my young students. I would also make sure to motivate and stimulate students. I have an artistic side, so I understand how important it is to be creative while planning lessons to keep students engaged.I have some experience teaching, as I was a teaching assistant in Peru and Burundi. I taught the children English and French and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Having a job where you have the opportunity to make a difference is very important for me; I believe teaching English could afford me this chance. References are available on request.
