Fascinated by the beauty of the natural world and noble materials, Jonckers studied topics like geology and alchemy, to even more obscure subjects such as ancient scriptures, hieroglyphs, and Kabbalistic symbolism. In the early 2000s, Emmanuel Jonckers opened his own atelier and design studio where he would create and develop new projects. 

hrough his many centers of interest, one in particular would stand out and become the focus of his creation: that of the aquatinte technique, an ancient practice of acid etching to engrave metal. Jonckers practices this technique with a variety of metals, predominantly brass and maillechort. His furniture can be recognized by its intricate and captivating features of polished metal with engraved abstract linework. 

Characterized by their understated elegance, timeless sensuality, and innate sobriety, Jonckers’ creations transcend the realms of mere objects. They exude a delicate subtlety, seamlessly integrating into a myriad of interiors with an effortless grace. Infused with emotion, fundamental inspirations are transformed into distinctive and functional designs.
