Laura Rabasco Hernández

My name is Laura, but you can call me Lau. My journey began in Spain, where I was born and studied Tourism, and continued in Belgium where I now live and look forward to work as a Product Designer.

Empathy and creativity have always been my driving forces for improving people's lives. The hospitality industry taught me a lot about customer service, languages, and complex problem-solving, but my true passion was elsewhere. That is why after 6 years I decided to switch my career path and attend Ironhack UX/UI Design Bootcamp. Through this experience, I learned how to think analytically, research user personas and goals, map user journeys, and design an interface.

For a better understanding of me, I asked 8 friends and coworkers what they would say about me in 3 to 4 words. Among the adjectives most commonly used were Empathetic, Dynamic, Creative, and Enthusiastic.

If I would describe myself, I would say that the experience of moving to Belgium taught me to be brave and independent, as well as adaptable. I aim to make every place a home and make everyone feel at home too, even if it means using my absurd humor.

Now, I look forward to achieving my goal of starting my career as a UX-UI Desginer.

User Experience Designer in BUCK - I had the fantastic opportunity to collaborate with BUCK for our final project of the Ironhack UX/UI Design Bootcamp. During a 4-week project, we worked on a solution to a challenge determined by our stakeholder. It consisted of the redesign of the content layout and reassessing the information architecture of their current website. Make brands aware of which BUCK office is most appropriate for their location and that they work on both big and small projects.

Front Desk Agent at Several Hotels -  Greeting guests, check-in/out, answer phone calls and emails, conference meeting room and reservations management. Make guests feel like home and provide them with the right tourist information and recommendations. Handle guest complaints and concerns in an efficient and timely manner. Assure communication between departments.

Graduated as UX-UI Designer with Ironhack. Graduated in Tourism by University of Girona.
