Leila Paquay

I am a highly organized and responsible bioinformatician with a systematic approach to solving problems and strong programming skills. I am seeking opportunities where I can channel my aptitude for data analysis and background in life sciences.

I worked for three years at the UHasselt as a FWO PhD fellow. I meticulously planned and conducted every step of the scientific research process, from experimental design to results reporting. I performed lab work to characterize bacterial communities using next-generation sequencing technology (amplicon). I developed automated analysis pipelines using R and R markdown to analyze those data. It automatically generated interactive HTML reports to facilitate the visualization and communication of the results. I sometimes work as a freelance app developer. I also volunteer at LaCyme, an association dedicated to promoting biodiversity knowledge in urban landscapes and addressing ecological challenges. I provide support for administration and general organization and apply for subsidies.

I hold a Master's degree in Ecology and Biodiversity from ULiege. I also have a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from KULeuven through which I gained a robust foundation in data analysis, statistical modeling, and computational biology.
