Marie Vanescote

My name is Marie Vanescote. I have recently graduated from the University of Amsterdam in International and European law, where I was majoring in Public International Law. I have obtained my L.L.B. at Maastricht University in European Law with a minor in International and European Human Rights Law.

I am currently finishing an internship in advocacy and sensibilisation in the field of international criminal law, international human rights law and international law at WAPA International. My main task is to perform research legal papers on the problematic of child soldiers around the world. I have recently graduated from the University of Amsterdam in International and European law, where I was majoring in Public International Law. I have obtained my L.L.B. at Maastricht University in European Law with a minor in International and European Human Rights Law.

My current position at WAPA international is providing me valuable research skills, which would be highly useful for a position within your organisation. Indeed, it made me comfortable with team working, legal research, time and organizational management. Furthermore, my educational experience provided me with numerous tools. It emphasized my writing skills through numerous research papers and assignments as well as my oral skills. I also had the opportunity to represent Maastricht University at the Moot Court Contest René Cassin in the premises of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. This competition gave me a practical taste of the legal field in practice and convinced me that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of European and International Law, International Criminal law and human rights. Lastly, I have been a member of the European Law Student Association and Maastricht for Climate, which was truly enriching. My role in those organisations was to research on specific thematic and write articles as well as legal briefs. I also had to help organising several awareness rising events.
