Theodoros Kondakos

As a collaborative, goal-focused, and team-oriented professional with progressive experience in React-based frontend development and 6+ years of experience as a CMS Developer building websites for various businesses, I contribute to the development of thoroughly tested, optimized, and user-focused websites while adhering to industry-best practices and established requirements.

In my previous role at The Web Empire in NYC, USA, I planned, designed, developed, maintained, and optimized corporate websites for small and medium business clients, accommodating a diverse clientele with different business models and requirements across 98 projects up to date. I also led and guided a lean team of 2 developers to accomplish milestones for website development projects while actively providing maintenance, updates, and client support to 91 completed orders. I'm proud to have introduced Agile Development to streamline workflows and collaborations by integrating a custom-made helper SASS library (Sinister) and other project management software, including Trello, git, webpack, and pipeline solutions.

In my current search for a new React Frontend Development role, I'm eager to leverage my growing knowledge in React, JavaScript, SASS, and HTML to contribute to innovative and optimized web development projects. Aside from my professional experience, I have completed various technical projects to further enhance my skills, including λ-Cybernetics, a front-end website infrastructure for a SAAS and PAAS solutions provider specializing in cloud infrastructure. I also designed and implemented a COVID-19 statistics tracker, created a GitHub Finder application, and designed and implemented a specialized tool utilizing HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to detect keyboard chattering by calculating and reporting time gaps between two keypresses and comparing the results to standard metrics.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Informatics Engineering from the University of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace in Kavala, Greece and completed an Erasmus in AI Master Program at the University of Amsterdam in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I have also completed additional training courses, including the Full Stack Open Course from the University of Helsinki, Fundamentals & Object-Oriented JavaScript from Code with Mosh, and JavaScript – The Complete 2020 from Udemy

In 2016, as part of my Bachelor's degree program, I completed a placement at Ahooga, a small startup company. Ahooga was seeking a new website and e-shop to sell their products and accessories. During my time there, I worked closely with the marketing manager and co-founder to grasp their requirements, create specifications, select the appropriate technology stack, and ultimately develop the website and e-shop.

Throughout the six-month duration of my placement, I successfully met all the requirements ahead of schedule, enabling the company to launch their first website and e-shop. This accomplishment significantly contributed to their growth and success.

In my next role at WebEmpire, a company specializing in website creation, SEO, and Social Media marketing campaigns, I focused on developing new websites for our clients. Similar to my previous position, I worked directly with clients, overseeing the entire development process from start to finish. After two years with the company, I was promoted to the role of account manager. This promotion granted me more autonomy and required me to engage directly with clients throughout the entirety of their projects.

As an account manager, I led a team of three developers and was involved in various aspects of project management. My responsibilities included discussing project specifications with clients, organizing the specifications, and assigning tasks to my team using the AGILE methodology. Moreover, I took charge of the development process for most projects. During this role, I focused on improving the overall development process by implementing CI/CD pipelines to expedite the development and creating a SASS library (available on npm) to boost my team's productivity in design-related tasks.

In addition to my professional experience, I have a strong commitment to staying up-to-date with the dynamic field of web development. One way I accomplish this is through my side projects, which have been instrumental in honing my skills, particularly in React.

Over time, I have created numerous web applications to enhance my proficiency in React. Recently, my focus has been on developing my personal portfolio. This project showcases my expertise in the latest version of NextJS (version 13) and leverages the advantages of React's server-side components. As a result, the portfolio is exceptionally fast, responsive, accessible, and designed with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind.
