Janssen Pharmaceutica is recruiting for the Manager Process Equipment Engineering & Integration for the Manufacturing Excellence department CAR-T EMEA, located in Ghent Belgium.

The Manufacturing Excellence CAR-T EMEA organization is an organization which provides and supports a high degree of assurance that specific processes will consistently produce and meets its pre-determined specifications by deploying process validation, process system engineering, data architecture and continuous process verification and process investigation.

The Manager Process Equipment Engineering & Integration will lead all aspects of day-to-day engineering for CAR T EMEA specific manufacturing plants, incl.

process equipment ordering up to integration, asset management strategies, equipment characterisation up to commissioning and qualification.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Direct, supervise and facilitate all Manufacturing Equipment related activities to drive strategic plans with suppliers, reliability and efficiencies in the CAR-T project delivery team.
  • Partner regionally and globally with key stakeholders to chair equipment engineering projects, piloting new ideas, fail fast and scale up the successful
ones.- Lead local Equipment Operation teams through the conceptual design of manufacturing areas, site improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Daytoday project delivery followup on manufacturing equipment integration in current facilities and communicate needs to facility project delivery teams.
  • Co-Chair the EMEA Facility Project Delivery team to establish strategies, governance processes, platforms, content and analytics for the Manufacturing Equipment portofolio.
  • Strengthen external relationships to ensure latest Digital technologies remain in focus for the business and act as primary point of contact to import innovative external solutions.
  • Coordinate and set up activities to reengineering Asset Capital Management and equipment safety
  • Lead, coach and develop the diverse team of suppliers, engineering offices, reporting into this role

Qualifications:


  • Required:
  • A Masters in Engineering or Bio
  • Tech discipline, Advanced degree advantageous
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing or GxP regulated environment is required.
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience required in lab and manufacturing process equipment management
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Cell Therapy, human plasma derived products or related industry is required.
  • Prior experience or knowledge in Biologic New Product Development and Manufacturing is required.
  • Project Management experience, control of information flows.
  • Manage/control budgets and followup planning. Knowledge of FPX methodology is an asset
  • Strong people management and communications skills written and oral
  • Fluency in English written and oral
  • Functioning in a matrix organisation is highly recommended
  • Preferred:
  • Equipment data processing and automation experience highly preferred
  • Experience in building best practices, Operations efficiency
