Key actor in the energy transition in Belgium, Eoly Energy's teams develop and manage onshore wind parks in Belgium.

Together with its sister company Eurowatt in France, Eoly manages all onshore wind activities of their main shareholder Virya Energy Group.

Strong with about 25 years of experience, Eoly Energy operates more than 50MW of onshore capacity across Belgium.

Eoly Energy also manages the Eoly Cooperative, allowing residents to participate in the decision-making process and to have ownership in the project.

Since joining forces with Eurowatt in 2023, Eoly is supporting the company's rapid international growth.

Eurowatt has about 30 years of experience in the renewable energy generation sector in Europe, with 350MW worth of projects and operations in Poland, Portugal, Spain, and France.

Together the two companies have ambitious plans to develop onshore wind projects steadily contributing towards _the transition to net zero_.


With Eoly Energy, Eurowatt, and its other entities, Virya Energy Group is active along the entire sustainable energy value chain, from generation to distribution.

Other activities include storage, sustainable hydrogen generation, and services to industries active in the sustainable transition. Virya Energy currently has over 1GW of installed green energy production capacity, mainly in wind power. Virya Energy creates scale and facilitates the exchange of knowledge amongst the entities of the group.


The company was created in 2018 as the renewable energy subsidiary of Colruyt Group and Korys (the investment fund of the Belgian Colruyt family).


Your role:


As a Business Development Manager Solar, you will initiate and develop new solar PV projects in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels to feed the portfolio of green energy projects of Eoly.

You will be supported by the Business Development Team of Eoly and by our Project Management Team for technical expertise.


Your target clients will be business clients who want to secure long term green energy supply for their activities via Power Purchase Agreements (PPA's) or any alternative revenue scheme available.


Your activities will include:

  • Making a concrete plan of actions to execute the business development strategy of Eoly Energy with regards to solar PV in Belgium
  • Creating and/or expanding a list of potential contacts with target companies, relying on leads of Virya Energy Group or your own prospects/network
  • Initiating new solar PV projects based on a good lead or prospect (including private and public tenders for solar PV)
  • Establishing a good business plan both for Eoly as for the client targeting a winwin relationship
  • Secure the necessary landuse contracts with the clients to install PV panels either on rooftops or groundmounted
  • Identify and build partnerships with different stakeholders allowing to gain visibility and accelerate the origination of new leads (EPC company, Engineering firms, etc.)
  • Developing solar PV projects until the Ready To Build phase, including the necessary steps to get the authorisations to build
  • Participating to regular internal meetings with the business development team, the Project management Team as the Public Affairs/Regulatory Manager
  • Being the single point of contact with local and regional stakeholders for solar PV projects of your portfolio
  • Reporting directly to the Business Development Team leader.
  • You are convinced by the role of renewable energies in the future and you want to contribute actively to the energy transition in Belgium. You are eager to work in a growing company and start the solar business activities.
  • You have obtained a university master's degree in business, economics, or similar.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in the solar PV business development, or similar work experience in energy related activities
  • You can demonstrate your acquired commercial skills like prospecting a new market, negotiate contracts with business clients. Previous experience in merger and/or acquisitions of solar projects is a plus.
  • You can demonstrate your skills in developing and managing a project from a first prospect to a readytobuild project
  • You have high communicative skills, can synthesize complex issues and bring them clearly both with your colleagues and your clients. You are a strong team player able to easily cooperate with members from internal teams.
  • You demonstrate a high level of initiative, motivation and autonomy.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and French, both spoken and written. You can also communicate in English.
