Skills, knowledge, experience required:


  • Extensive knowledge and experience (more than 5 years) in the following areas:
  • General, wide breadth knowledge of cyber security principles, best practices, concepts and technology;
  • Solid knowledge of cyber security, including configuration and integration of boundary protection components e.g. firewalls, NIPs, HIPs, diodes), encryption, identity and access management, monitoring and detection, incidence response, vulnerability assessments, computer forensics and risk management;
  • Design and configuration of various IT infrastructure elements within projects;
  • Experience in routing and switching and virtualisation technologies i.e. VMWare related technologies;
  • Knowledge and experience in:
  • Requirements management, system design, and system engineering for cyber security system;
  • Executing implementation projects together with industry in the cyber security area, including proven ability to develop statements of work and system requirements statements;
  • Testing and validating that contracted deliveries meet the requirements and fulfil the intended usecases;
  • Familiarity with system accreditation and deployment of CIS, including deployment to operational military areas;
  • Proven ability to deliver technology/systems/solutions/capabilities for industry, government, or military;
  • Ability to:
  • Work independently and in teams to achieve the desired goals, including the ability to monitor and support a team of industry;
  • Perform effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision;
  • Excellent communications and writing skills in English.

Desirable:


  • Experience with implementation projects within NATO and/or National military organizations;
  • Familiarity and experience with requirements managements systems such as IBM Rational DOORS;
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.

Duties/role:


  • Supporting the development of one or more technical deliverables and/or providing exercise support in execution of projects undertaken;
  • Reviewing progress meetings regularly, at least once per week, with the NCI Agency task leads;
  • Configuring firewalls, routers, switches, network proxies, VPN concentrators to maximise network efficiency and security according NCSC Operational needs;
  • Configuring and deploying:
  • Vulnerability assessments (e.g. Tenable Nessus), computer forensics (e.g. AccessData) tools;
  • Virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare NSX-T);
  • Configuring, tuning and deploying monitoring tools/appliances and incidence response tools such as RSA Netwitness, Splunk;
  • Implementing security settings relating to any of Cisco, Juniper, Linux, Unix, Microsoft operating systems;
  • Investigating faults in the network efficiently and proposing improvements.
