  • Based in Belgium (Gent and Brussels), this position will be responsible for the review, analysis and financial reporting of the region Northern Europe with a special focus on the Belgian entities. The controller will deliver advisory on financial topics including profit improvement, cost control and process improvements. He/she will be the interface between the Northern Europe entities and the regional management for all Financial topics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Operations Management:

Financial Controlling:
Support accounting, oversee the operation of control accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts; Build a strong relationship with all entities of the region;

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of monthly closing and forecast; Budget/ Forecasting. Preparation of monthly forecast; Build up the German & Eastern Europe budget; Master and check the budgeted expenses; Propose action plans;
  • Annual Reports: Support the preparation of the statutory annual reports in accordance with local GAAP;
  • AdHoc Reports and Analysis: Preparation of specific reports and analysis for local Management and HQ;
  • Finance IT Systems: Lead or participate to any Financial system project
  • Management Accounts: Responsibility for the timely preparation and interpretation of the subsidiaries' monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Reporting & Communication: Regularly report on all issues to the Finance Director. Be proactive and alert about any problems or material variance to budget or forecast;
  • Operations Support and Business Followup:

Business Follow up:
Support the Finance director in the follow-up of business and performance on the basis of the objectives defined for the region;

  • Suppliers: Review and approve suppliers invoices for correct booking and payment;
  • Sales and Service Contract. Monitoring of the timeliness and completeness of invoicing of sales orders and service contracts;
  • Professional Services: Monitoring of invoicing, delivery and revenue recognition of the services sold in the region.

IDEAL PROFILE:


  • Master degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 35 years' experience in controlling, preferably in a listed company
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Flemish would be a plus
  • Capacity to organize and implement efficient accounting, financial reporting and procurement functions.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solution oriented thinking.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of internal financial controls, policies and procedures improving company performance
  • Understanding of crossfunctional processes and operations.
  • Strong (internal) customer service orientation.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and synthetic way.
  • Both proactive and professional in his/her approach and be able to demonstrate strong intellectual ability.
