Luminus' Optimisation department wants to proactively leverage its market expertise to guide Luminus' strategy & activities in line with Luminus' mission statement in order to:
(1)
increase Luminus' competitive advantage in a changing market driven by build-out of renewable energy sources, electrification of demand & introduction of newtechnologies;
(2)
reinforce Luminus' resilience in a market characterised by price volatility and uncertainties on energy supply and

(3)
assert Luminus' own interests towards external stakeholders (e.g. Elia, CREG, Fluxys, Engie,...).


In such a way that:

  • The
    EDF risk mandate is fully respected & challenged when needed
  • Key
    risk management processes are rigorously implemented & operational excellence pursued (including through data management)

Collaboration with internal stakeholders is structurally reinforced

  • Optimisation's
    dynamic and 'cando' culture is preserved, fostered & efficiently leverage
The Data Intelligence Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that:
(1)
data is made accessible to the department in a clean and proper way,

(2)
data is trustworthy & qualitative - data issues are identified (quality, coherence, integrity),

(3)
models (AI, ML, forward curve, option models,) are developed & maintained to support core activities & decision-making and fuel innovation. Responsible for the
development & maintenance of artificial intelligence & machine learning models
(4)
business tools step up in maturity by industrialising Python code & bringing in best practices to ensure code quality (e.g. via peer review,)

(5)
data & modelling expertise existing within the business inspires innovation at Luminus level.

(6) Develop & promote a
culture that looks into developing a
mindset that values innovation while taking into account risk awareness & operational excellence
& values collaboration **within and across departments

(7) Demonstrate
'thought leadership' on
data & modelling, by contributing expertise to help advance Luminus strategic direction and by generating innovative insights and sharing these within Luminus to influence and inspire.

Knowledge & experience

  • Master in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Engineering or Economics
  • Min. 3 years experience in managing teams
  • Min. 3 years experience in Optimisation domain, experience of working in a regulated trading role or working closely with trading teams
  • Strong and proven track record in
    data science / data engineering / AIML:

  • Experience in leading projects and managing operational processes, ensuring robustness and efficiency
